Extraordinary. Clearly there are many layers to the nuanced debate, but this has the feel of the FA's blueprint being challenged. Tuchel was meant to better Southgate; raise the bar from silver to gold standard. Now isn't the time for the manager to go for the throat, surely?
While there remains a demand for post-match interviews - usually obligatory as part of rights' deals - then occasional awkwardness is likely. Clarke being 'old school' irrelevant; any reporter worth his/her salt should do same. Outcome of both interviews: engaging & insightful

If only we had something called League tables that determined your position after x games (38 or 46, depending on your division). A clear indication that mania for stats is draining &, in the main, utter bullshit. One stat matters on a match day: the full time score.
