How did I end up with three copies of the same album? When it's one of the best albuls ever who cares? 1) Torso original (2nd hand and most expensive) 2) 1995 re-release 3) Abbey Road remaster in the digipac format. The new one sounds the best.

Aha! It's the lovely Abbey Road remastered version of On Land and In the Sea by #Cardiacs The vinyl has the advantage of a larger font for the booklet, that squiggly font isn't easy on these old eyes. The CD has the advantage of not having to turn it over at half time.

What a fabulous collection of bangers (and mash). Side 2 is 'just' 4 songs but whoa, there's quality. Wireless is an homage to Faust's song Psalter with Tim's lyrics. The song ends with the sound of many scissors snipping, a dreamlike poem about peril at sea and a sublime piece of orchestral music.

Of course, there's the credits on the back cover, always entertaining.

One of the lovely things about the vinyl is that each band member gets to feature on a label. Side one features 'Random' Jon Poole and, of course, the spindle just happens to make a splendid nose! #Cardiacs

Sing To God by Cardiacs is 30 years old today! More ideas in one song than most artists have on a whole album and this is a double. Some say it's the best albul ever made. If measured by genius it's certainly one of the heaviest hitters.
