🎉 Holy probably higher than normal interest, deliveryman! That's a lot of love shown from you guys in like a little bit over a week O_o! store.steampowered.com/news/app/284... I want to thank you all for checking out Into The Wind #intothewindgame #gamingnews #cozygaming #indiegames
We finally announced our game at the end of PC Gaming Show. Its a very ambitious game made from our small 10-man team. Huge thanks to my team and you guys for supporting us! Check it out! & Wishlist it on Steam if you find it interesting! store.steampowered.com/app/2843060 #intothewindgame
Noticed this while watching footage of builder games,Its a bit sad to see tbh If you spend 2-3 years making a game, its sad to see it come out the other end unrecognizable because you made a decision to use marketplace assets. Better to downscope art into something more managable imo! #Gamedev
I dont know whats going on with Starsand Island, but the gamepass early access version is buggy. Playing on Ultra & they completely butchered the EA version to make it run well? They also just deleted collision for a bunch of assets. O_o I'm so confused #StarsandIsland
Alright, another Unreal Engine (5.6) Heads Up for people using Lumen + Non-Nanite Meshes + Packed Level Actors. It appears that surface caches doesn't properly get forwarded/generated for packed level actors BPs with HISMs inside. tinyurl.com/yus8cctx #UnrealEngine #UE5
Had another one of these Win 11 BS things in Unreal. This time in the editor instead of a game. After the PC has been running a while (days + sleepmode), performance degrades, you get stutters even in Editor. A restart fixes it completely. #GameDev #UnrealEngine
Here is Lee Petty, having to deal with Unreal Engine shenanigans and just having to do this wait for computing references in a freakin 1h 45min breakdown vid haha. I love it , none shall escape the game engine quirks! www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMa5... #UnrealEngine #UE5
I'm 50/50 when it comes to stepped-anim in games. I feel like having a choppy character & fluid everything else is weird. If I made a game like this I'd force usage static cameras + hand-animating everything with steps + moving objects on a grid with steps XD..team would hate me
Man do I miss more focus on immersive gameplay in more modern titles. Games are just becoming more & more static. I understand that its a huge production cost but its a bit sad to see large productions barely even doing the minimum when it comes to world interaction.
You know that moment, when you play the game you are making & even though its rough its starting to come together, it finally feels like a game. Its such a wonderful feeling, just some more content, more variation & maybe something magical with happen in the future. #Gamedev
Let's give some appreciation for The Order 1886. It's 10 years old, hands down a lot more realistic & nicer looking than some modern titles. The care, effort, craftmanship put into the visuals is stunning even 10 years later. Thanks DF for the gifs ! Part 1
Man Stalker is a long game! Had a funny interaction with a door yesterday as well I was just so surprised how fast it was closing after you get out of its range. It basically slams itself shut and it surprised me XD #Stalker
So I've been playing Stalker 2 saturday evening & all day sunday. It's definitely a stalker game which is awesome, the visuals are alright! though overall quite noisy, ie the art content itself. Some of the ground-clutter is just..ultra noise! Having fun though!
I think it's weird that #DragonAgeVeilguard sometimes don't provide all the different personality/attitude options in dialogues. Forcing your character into behaving in ways you don't want. Ie you cant have a stoic or tough character always behaving that way. The game doesn't let you.
The birds in Dragon Age are the stuff of nightmares xD #DragonAgeVeilguard
When I talk about visual inconsistency in Dragon Age I'm basically talking about this: If you look close at these images, nothing looks like it fits. Texel Density all over the place, noise-level all over the place, stylization, all over the place. Scanned wood create, next to hand-made table.
Dragon Age Veilguard definitely has some visual consistency issues art direction wise (previous posts) since some of the stuff comes from scans and some of it is hand-made. It kinda makes for a mixed-bag visually Here is an example of Megascan usage. #DragonAgeVeilguard #GameArt
This is a little bit funny too. Not sure why one would do that rather than just scale the mesh to a point or something. & also I'm sorry if I'm being overly negative about the game, its a good game its just not the quality I expected in many ways. #DragonAgeVeilguard
Example of like contrasting direction. Its too different. The pebble/rock texture is too detailed in this space. Its like so contrasty in every way its kind of annoying to look at. I think we should be careful about this in general because its just giving TAA extra work for no good reason ^^
#DragonAgeVeilguard has some uneven art direction in some areas & I'm currently on the main path. The noise levels are crazy on some of these assets. Like this normal-noise placed on all the terrain & some of these rocks, contrasted against the cleaner marble. There must be a nicer middle-ground.

You know in Mass Effect when you had off-time between missions you'd walk around the Normandy & actually have dialogues with your companions? Yeah Dragon Age doesn't have that. They just sit there sometimes talk to you & you dont respond. Makes the game feel a bit stiff =/
Whenever you have dialogues that isn't with forced set companions, the companions never really weigh in with their opinions or say anything when you have dialogues with other people. You just randomly get "this person approves" It's a bit weird tbh #DragonAgeVeilguard
I've really been enjoying Rivals of Aether 2, it's seriously a beautiful game, runs really well and is a great platform fighter. The movement is so smooth its crazy. Unlike the first game this one feels more like smash which is pretty cool! The VFX alone are worth the money lol! :D #ROA2
How #UE handles Lit Translucent Materials & their colors vs the Opaque/Masked counter-part is crazy. I don't even know what the hell to think and how anybody can do Vfx and color matching in these conditions! xD These are the same but left is masked, right is translucent.
