Here is the full two-page short comic I wrote, 'The Gaze', for the psychological anthology horror, Murky Waters, published in 2021. Blessed to have worked alongside Ariela Kristantina, Gab Contreras, & Erica Schultz on this little piece!
Welcome to the The Sands Between Us team to our letterer @adeletalemi.bsky.social! Adel is the final piece to the puzzle that is our psychological horror OGN, set in Tunisia & exploring cultural identity, colonisation, & assimilation. The wonderful Pat Masioni is wrapping up the final pages!
Happy #portfolioday I'm the co-writer of the graphic novel TUNIS TO SYDNEY, published by Fairsquare Graphics, The Resurrected OGN, and the Murky Waters anthology. The Sands Between Us, drawn by Pat Masioni, incoming My stories have also appeared in several anthologies. Always up for a collab!
This is likely our final sneak-peek page from our upcoming graphic novel, THE SANDS BETWEEN US, a psychological horror tale set in the Tunisian Sahara. It follows a French-Tunisian man grappling with his dual identity and recounts his journey to reclaim his long hidden Arab-ness.
BICS is a free event so come down and say hello tomorrow!
I don’t always advertise advertise huge multinationals but when I do it’s the Uniqlo store in Ginza… I take this same photo from the Ginza Six department store every visit to Tokyo.
HERE WE BLOODY GO @christophcondon.bsky.social and @thatjacobphillips.bsky.social!!!!
Our OGN "Tunis to Sydney" follows a Tunisian-Australian couple & explores the immigrant experience & the concept of 'home'. Hopefully our book can open up people's minds and hearts to cultures other than their own. You can order it online or from your local book retailer.
Another wonderful book from an @andrewmaxwell.bsky.social Kickstarter campaign. Super fun magazine and honestly it was soooooo cute. I’m also really getting into magazine sized comics so it was right up my alley.
Meriam & I are sharing another sneak-peek from our upcoming graphic novel; a psychological horror tale set in Tunisia. One goal of this book is to bring to the fore the breathtaking south of Tunisia, which Pat Masioni is doing wonderfully. This page is set in a unique troglodyte Berber village
I will never ever get sick of seeing signed copies of TUNIS TO SYDNEY at Kinokuniya.
In a complete coincidence, a day after sharing my love for @keezyyoung.bsky.social’s Sunflowers, @cerealpancake.bsky.social recommended Hello Sunshine to me, and bloody hell what an incredible read that I could not put down! And great to see it front and centre at The Strand. Massively recommended!
Diamond may be holding onto most of our publisher’s books but you can still find copies of our graphic novel TUNIS TO SYDNEY in loads of stores, including Forbidden Planet at NYC. Still spins me out to see it at our local LCS…
I’ve read everything @christophcondon.bsky.social has written yet this beautiful book still managed to exceed my expectations! What a ride! Kept meaning to chat with Jeffrey at NYCC and to compliment his incredible art but time got away from me. Excited for issue two!
Was so happy to have @denizcamp.bsky.social & @javierrodriguez.bsky.social sign this magnificent book at NYCC. My favourite in the Absolute line. After the signing we also both walked away saying what incredible sweet people Javi and Deniz are. So refreshing And Deniz’s t-shirt game was STRONG!!!
Happy #portfolioday I'm the co-writer of the graphic novel TUNIS TO SYDNEY, published by Fairsquare Graphics, and The Resurrected OGN, the Murky Waters anthology. Untitled OGN, drawn by Pat Masioni incoming.... My stories have also appeared in several anthologies. Always up for a collab!
Are any of my friends doing Big Apple Comic Con next month? Trying to work out whether it’s worth applying for a table?
Geeeez, what can I say about @keezyyoung.bsky.social’s wonderful book that hasn’t been said already? Absolutely gorgeous art and a message that resounded deep within my heart. Such a sweet and sensitive story that has helped me better understand my bipolar friends. Great to see you at NYCC, Keezy!
Another wonderful pickup from NYCC! A fresh & unique take on the undead by @tatebrombal.bsky.social, Jacob Phillips & team that had me hook, line and sinker from the first page. I definitely wasn’t ready for some of those heavy emotional beats! Wow! Great to meet you in person as well, Tate!
Getting stuck into my NYCC reading pile already. I know what to expect with @henrybarajas.bsky.social’s stories, so no shock that it was a gripping and meaningful book, working perfectly with @ohhhaeee.bsky.social’s striking and unique artistic style. As for the colours, well Lee is a master!
Meriam & I will be at NYCC & I'm particularly proud that she has her first ever comic con pro pass, just a year after publishing her first graphic novel. We won't be doing a signing this year but you can still buy TUNIS TO SYDNEY from our publisher, Fairsquare Graphics, at D-29 in Artist Alley.
FINALLY, Meriam and I can announce that we are working on a new graphic novel, a psychological horror tale set in the breathtaking Tunisian Sahara. The story follows a French-Tunisian man grappling with his dual identity and recounts his journey to reclaim his long hidden Arab-ness.
Finally, we can announce that Meriam & I are now represented by James Spackman at the BKS Agency in London! We’re excited to be working with James, and we’ll be sharing details about our new project in the coming days :) www.thebksagency.com/carnouches
Happy #portfolioday I'm the co-writer of the OGN Tunis to Sydney, published by Fairsquare Graphics, and The Resurrected OGN & the Murky Waters anthology. Unannounced OGN and more HUGE news incoming... My stories have also appeared in several anthologies. Always up for a collab!
TUNIS TO SYDNEY is still available at The Strand Bookstore at Union Square in NYC!
I'd read pretty much all of Ed Brubaker's books and am a huge fan, but funnily enough I'd never read his Marvel books. Well, I remedied that and binged the entire Volume Five of Cap. JFC what a run of incredible writing and art! And so relevant to today's times.
“Just when I quit, they pull me back in!” Well done, @alexsegura.bsky.social and @philnoto.bsky.social, I guess I’m reading SW comics again!
One year ago today was our first time in Previews mag!
