One of my favorite soups, Georgian kharcho. But this was the first time that I made it with ground walnuts, and yes, they do elevate the already terrific dish. Unfortunately, it's not very photogenic? #foodsky #homecooking
Clockwise, from upper left: morkovcha, steak cubes, cucumber and ginger salad with a radish on top, doenjang soup with potato, mixed grain rice. #foodsky #Homecooking
Soy-butter spaghetti with onions and shimeji mushrooms. #homecooking #foodsky
Hayashi rice that my spouse made with thinly sliced beef, onions, mushrooms and bell pepper, served on mixed grain rice and with a side of lightly vinegar-pickled cabbage. I made and froze a batch of thinly sliced beef myself, it's almost impossible to buy it here like that. #homecooking #foodsky
Clockwise, from upper left: hijiki with carrots, edamame, lotus root, vinegar pickled cabbage, doenjang stew with carrots, omions potatoes, firm tofu, simple egg drop soup with chives, soy-butter steak on bed of lettuce with a dollop of gochujang, mixed grain rice. #homecooking #foodsky
Perfect dish for hot weather: cold somen with tuna and tomatoes, topped with fresh basil. It's very easy to make, too! Got the recipe from Just One Cookbook website. #foodsky #homecooking
Clockwise, from upper left corner: pork meatballs with lotus root and shiitake in sauce, hijiki with edamame, carrots and more lotus root, litely salted cabbage, doenjang stew with carrots, potatoes and firm smoked tofu, mixed grain rice.
Clockwise, from upper left corner: Steamed broccoli with sesame dressing, reckon hasamiyaki (ground pork fried between lotus root pieces in savory sauce) with some lettuce, miso soup with pok choi, mixed grain rice, vinegar pickled radishes. #homecooking #foodsky
Steak with shichimi togarashi, pan-fried green asparagus, and rolled omelet on a bed of lettuce, vinegared cucumber&ginger quick pickles, kombu&carrot tsukudani, miso soup with cabbage (I think), mixed grain rice. #homecooking #foodsky
Mediterranean-imspired fish dish of no particular recipe. Basa (I think) stewed on top of veggie mix of onions, garlic, bell peppers, tomatoes & green olives. Served with a generous heap of fresh parsley & rye crusty bread. #foodsky #homecooking
Sukiyaki donburi with beef, smoked tofu, carrots, and onions, served with simple cucumber-radish salad and equally simple roasted nori soup (nori sui). First time I made nori sui, it's a great, very simple recipe. #foodsky #homecooking
My first successful Adjaruli khachapuri! (Not 100% authentic due to trouble sourcing suluguni where I live, but kashkaval cheese turned out to be a great substitute.) All knachapuri are beautiful (what's not to love about cheese bread?!), but Adjari-style one is my favorite. #foodsky #homecooking
A friend gave birth earlier this week, and I visited her with a homemade bento for her and her husband. Food info in alt text. (Not pictured: a jar of Korean postpartum soup with lots of seaweed. Seaweed is good for postpartum due to iron, iodine, fiber, proteins etc.) #homecooking #foodsky
A donburi-style dinner, with miso-roasted salmon, pan-fried peppers,miso-marinated carrot, sliced lettuce on top of mixed grain rice.
Yeah... it's difficult to make a good-looking photo of pea soup... But it was delicious and minimal effort!
Grilled mackerel with shredded cabbage, ponzu & grated dsikon, miso-marinated carrot and baby cucumber, stewed daikon with red miso, dashing broth with roasted nori, mixed grain rice with fake caviar topping.
Clockwise: tuna-potato salad on lettuce, sweet potato tempura, skewered & pan fried chicken meatballs&paldron peppers with teriyaki sauce, vinegared yellow bell pepper, miso soup with... honestly, I don't remember 😅 and multigrain rice.
I thought I already uploaded this already, but apparently not. Yakisoba-pan (home-made), inspired by playing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, aka best sci-fi game I played in a looooong time (that's not a Takahashi/Monolithsoft product).
Food post again. Lettuce & radishes, soy-pickled cucumbers, vegetable tempura, chicken meatballs in broth, mixed grain rice with edamame, carrots, kombu and (barely visible) dip for tempura.
Not steamed hams, but turkey burgers with oven roasted brussel sprouts (best way to eat brussel sprouts) and a humpback salmon caviar on buttered Latvian rye bread with egg.
Rice soup (with leftover rice), lettuce, tomatoes, baby potatoes, and oyster mushrooms fried in egg wash, served with tonkatsu sauce. I love mushrooms, especially oyster mushrooms!
After making that tempura mountain, we had a bunch of meals with varying amounts of tempura in them. This tempura udon had a bigger portion of it.
My food posts are usually way after the fact. Anyway, here is that tempura dinner we had a while ago.
Made a tempura bento for my friend (so much tempura!). Aside from the fried stuff, there's also mixed grain rice, parboiled mangetout, and dipping sauce with some grated mouli in the small container. Not depicted: a ball of miso paste to make into instant soup.
...And then I made a mountain of tempura: nori, shiitake, baby eggplant, surimi (Imitation crab stick), paldron pepper, lotus root.
Homemade yakitori (chicken thigh&green onion) and salad with lettuce, cucumber, Imitation crab stick and carrot-ginger-miso dressing, topped with a soft-boiled egg.
Imitation crab stick salad with cucumber and wakame, pickled radish, clear soup with baby spinach and oyakodon (chicken&egg bowl) on mixed grain rice.
Tomatoes with grated carrot-ginger-miso dressing and curry with coconut milk, carrots, spinach and chicken on top of white rice
Green salad&radishes with crab stick and carrot-ginger-miso dressing, quick cucumber&radish pickles, smocked tofu braised in gyûdon broth, red miso soup & home-made okonomiyaki with imitation caviar on top (which had okay taste but totally wrong texture so it's a nogo for me from now on. )
Cabbage&carrot douenjang soup, leaf salad&radishes with carrot-miso-ginger dressing and gyūdon (beef bowl) on mixed rice, topped with sushi ginger. Gyūdon was particularly nice, it's a pain to slice meat that thin at home, but very worth it.
