Whoa, thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy browsing my feed! SFC / Satellaview / DMG / NDS retro-hoarder, fan of Quintet & Indie games. @sfc_moogle on Twitter - he/him - 🇩🇪 If you are from 🇪🇺, contact me if you need your Satellaview 8Ms checked/preserved.
I really wonder what happened to PA Games Zelda-style Super Famicom homebrew game that they‘ve shown in 2021, it looked really good. #snesdev
Here‘s the best version of Actraiser for this #RandomGameSaturday - the EU version has improved balancing & as a special feature an Arcade mode that plays like the US arcade board. Needless to say, Quintet started off strong on the SNES, along with a killer OST by @yuzokoshiro.bsky.social
I usually show older Gen games for #RandomGameSaturday, but in the light of current events, here‘s a great overlooked PS4 physical for this week. Natsuki Chronicles by Qute Corporation. Let‘s hope Sony reconsiders its decision after the heavy backlash.
Smash Bros-like prototype on SNES hardware based on the Super Boss Gaiden engine of Goldlocke. Screenshot posted on Twitter in 2019 - never came to be, but it was a fun dev session! #snesdev
Here‘s a really good Kirby game for this #RandomGameSaturday… I usually don’t like games that utilize the Nintendo DS touchscreen too heavily, but this one did it well!
Seems like the Echoes of Time box also has the 2-4 player wireless multiplay symbol on the box, which should confirm that it doesn’t use a server if the connection is only made between DS systems. gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/box/4/8/1/...
Picked up this new game everyone seems to be excited about! #StarFox
Pixar, please don’t sue me for this #RandomGameSaturday… It’s Unirally for Super Nintendo!
Reddit did its thing and voted the best SNES games of multiple categories. I must say this is a respectable list for anyone looking newly into the console! www.reddit.com/r/snes/s/VVd...
I’ve got one of the most awesome birthday presents I’ve ever received from @sd2snes.de last week. Even though it says Made by Krikkz on the label, this FX PAK PRO was hand-assembled by ikari_01 and has a special dedication to our deceased friend Near with a golden Higan logo printed on the back.
Seems like Wicked Plague for Game Boy Color quietly got a Version 1.1 update, with pretty nice changes! Sadly no rebalancing to the boss mode, but the already great main game will definitely be even better than before. It’s a fantastic Metroidvania!
Birthday (was on Monday) gets for a “modern” console for a change. Gravity Circuit is currently available for free on Steam, so make sure to check it out!
I snatched a cutie today! Not what you think, it’s for #RandomGameSaturday! Hamtaro: Rainbow Rescue is one of the more obscure 1st Party games for Game Boy Advance. Believe it or not, this series was directed by Shigeru Miyamoto and pretty great fun if you don’t mind the risk of virtual diabetes!
You didn’t see this one coming, did you? It’s Tomato Adventure for Game Boy Advance on this #RandomGameSaturday!
Reddit did its thing and voted the best Nintendo DS games of all time for multiple categories. Obviously imports are a bit left out here, but since a surprising amount of stuff got localized on DS, the list got quite diverse. Great cheat cheet for games to pick up for your collection/flash card!
It’s another #RandomGameSaturday! This time I’ve pulled Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun for Super Famicom from the shelf. It’s a rather unknown Platformer from Enix with Beat ‘em Up and RPG elements. Features super wacky anime characters and pretty great graphics for 16bit standards.
Seems like the notoriously underprinted GBA game Blender Bros gets a rerelease. It’s one of the last Hudson Soft games with some Quintet staff in support roles. I recommend to hold your horses with preorders since the company has not much of a track record. www.physicalmania.com/online-store...
A Shmup-ish Puzzler on this #RandomGameSaturday - Dolucky no Puzzle Tour 94 for Super Famicom!
This somehow didn’t end up being posted here on Bluesky, so I am sharing it now, despite being Slowpoke breaking news. Sharing is appreciated! A new Satellablog post by Danyl is available & it features some neat, previously I undumped Satellaview ROMs as usual: superfamicom.org/blog/2026/02...
New Game Boy and Nintendo DS gets from recent months - with some sweet hidden gems and oddities! 👾 The Mobile Golf Plus package looks kinda discolored, but that’s fortunately only the lighting on this photo.
But that doesn’t matter much if the game is fun, it’s just the first impression - I’ll need a bit more testing to confirm if I like the gameplay and difficulty or not.
Here are some impressions of the Japanese GBA homebrew release ZION, developed by Fore Stone and published by Habit Soft.
Cleared Pokémon Ultra Sun today after chipping away at it for a while! It’s the first Pokémon I’ve cleared since Gen 3. And I am glad I did, it’s really good! Don’t plan to finish the Dex like I did in Gen 3 though, doing this for one generation was enough “joy” for a lifetime for me haha 😆
Some photos to go along with my little production quality review for LRGs Doom for SNES remaster:
They are still in the in-game credits, which have been updated with the current IP holder. This likely means D4E didn’t dictate to cut them out. This makes Modretros decision not to list them in the manual credits even weirder.
Modretro is not crediting the original Japanese development team of ZAS in their Game Boy rerelease. These people developed it: www.mobygames.com/game/109302/...
Anyways, that concludes my backlog testing! Games on the left will stay in the collection and hopefully get cleared, the ones on the right will get sold, since it is way too unlikely that I will ever finish them. What do you think about my choices and this way of sorting out the backlog?
Pile of shame, pile of shame! I’ll give each of these unplayed Nintendo DS games 20 minutes to prove themselves today. Anyone that’s doesn’t catch my interest needs to go.
