Cinnamon, Codex, and I gave my stream layout a little upgrade. 💅 What do you think? I’ll be streaming more often, hacking IntelliJ IDEA, and doing Gradle work. Subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss the next stream 👇 www.youtube.com/@hszanowski
What if IntelliJ IDEA and WebStorm could gray out unused object properties in JavaScript/TypeScript? Useful? Annoying? Surprisingly handy? Thinking about shipping this inspection — and maybe live-streaming how it’s built. Would you use it?
OK, that’s really cool - Spotify introduced DJ X, your AI assistant for composing a playlist that you’re going to listen to in the current session. It behaves also like a radio presenter, describing what you just discovered and what’s up next. Spotify, good job on that!
Good morning to a new splash screen in @intellijidea.com 🎉 Happy cake day, @kotlinlang.org 🍰
IntelliJ Platform Gradle Plugin 2.17.0 IS SHIPPED 🚢 56 days since the last one, and this release packs improved plugin verifier handling, new split-mode and RemDev goodies, IntelliJ Platform 262 updates, and a solid batch of fixes. Changelog: github.com/JetBrains/in...
Custom splash screen?!? Hacking JetBrains IDEs right now We always wanted to set our own splash screen for JetBrains IDEs! www.youtube.com/@hszanowski
I made a macOS screensaver inspired by JetBrains CAI's Noise Terrain animation. 🎉 It started as a web-based animation from Computational Arts Initiative team, translated cleanly into Kotlin Compose, then became a real screensaver using @zsmb.co's ScreenSaver project. 🔥 Download: jb.gg/screensaver
The IntelliJ Platform Plugin Template 2.5.0 is now published. But what's going on?? 😱 jb.gg/plugin-templ...
IntelliJ Platform Gradle Plugin 2.14.0 is not a casual upgrade. I’m live tonight at 9 PM CEST / 3 PM EDT on Twitch, X, and YouTube to break down the release, the breaking changes, and the features that matter. I’ll also update the Plugin Template to see what the new setup really looks like.
I can't pass them the IntelliJ project sources, but there are other ways
On a scale from “not at all” to “still no,” how much do you care about GitHub achievements?
Whoa, Grammarly started suggesting fixes to text written in my native language. Are they expanding from English?
After 10 years, I bought a new smart bathroom scale and installed its smart app. Guess what question I was asked during registration 👇
That's great news. Thanks, @linkedin.com! Let's do some hacking now
The best plugin ideas are often painfully unglamorous. Not "AI for everything." More like "remove one annoying team-specific mistake" or "turn 6 clicks into 1" If a plugin kills a tiny repeated friction point, people will keep using it.
Next week, Yuriy gives a talk on UI freezes in JetBrains IDE plugins. Also, @halirutan.bsky.social highlighted that Yuriy experiments with skills to help AI agents bear problems you face. Want to learn more? Join them on Thursday, March 19, at 03:00 PM UTC 📺 blog.jetbrains.com/platform/202...
That’s not software, but it’s still good kind of development. I found my thing! — a jump rope — only earlier this year. I’m not good at it yet, no tricks, but after twenty-something years in tech, I know it’s all about consistency. Keep it up, whatever your drill is! 🙌
The IT take on extreme sports? Start updating your OS a few minutes before the meeting. 😅 (progress bar: I do what I want) 🫠
I fixed my desk setup — ergonomic again ✅ Now it’s time to start streaming. You’ll see plugin development, hacking, and fixing things, live and in public. 🎦 Want in? Tell me, and I’ll ping you when I’m online.
Easy to miss, but it’s a big one: GitHub Dependabot can finally update the Gradle Wrapper 🔥 Do you rely on automated PRs in your projects?
I've been told no one will notice that — prove them wrong 🫣 The upcoming 2026.1 release of JetBrains IDEs rolls out a smooth caret in the code editor to please your eyes! 💅 Hot or not?? P.S. Already available in 2026.1 EAP!
Oh, this is new! This companion object is a read-only code block. What do you think? #kotlin #intellijidea
