This is super sweet - the edhrec page has a number of cards that pay one life as a cost though - those don’t trigger him right? Or does it not need to be the effect since it’s worded “ability” rather than “effect” and the cost paid can trigger?
When you cast this spell, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card that costs less. You may cast it without paying its mana cost. Put the exiled cards on the bottom in a random order. Then do it again. @cascadecascade.com
I think a “retrained” Hedron Alignment that forces you to be able to have 4 copies could be interesting in edh but maybe too easy? Maybe you have 5 and also have to have one on top of library.
Telling time. Also one of the “any number of copies” cards should be at 2, for the bit.
Scaled Quail-Northern Mockingbird-Common Raven is an incredible and compact engine. I beat my personal record of points this game.

I’ve got got by this for not realizing that boast is an instant speed ability that can be activated if you’ve attacked, rather than an attack trigger 🫨 As a rakdos Chainer fan mine is doomed necromancer with honorable mention to squee (but he’s not really meant to ever hit the board)

Super nice!! I had never heard of Vat, looks really good for Syr Vondam once you get a board. My favorite unmentioned is Incarnation Technique - hoping this cycle gets reprinted in the new Strixhaven precons
