Watching Ann Droid and the character of Eileen has the same effect on me that Mike from The Young Ones had on me 🙄
I’m having Calimocho! Red wine coke and ice. Try it! It’s surprisingly nice 😊
Reading Private Eye picking up on the growing sense that things can’t possibly get worse and to let Nigel have a go! It feels like a “kamikaze” drift even when they can clearly see what’s happening in the US. How on earth do we interrupt that train of thought & create & offer better alternatives?
Map of extra councils now run by Reform after winning 26% of the national vote. Support ranges from near‑zero to 50%+ by area. Their results echo the Lib Dems historically: pockets of regional strength, little sign of being near government. #tidalwave #reform #localelections #notreally
After a gruelling two weeks being Ofsted-ed I was beginning to get the Sunday evening dread then remembered I had wisely booked a day off tomorrow 👊 So I opened a new candle, got a G&T and olives on the go and for first time in ages I have full control of the remote!
Just asked AI to work out what the savings to employers would be on paying a 40k salary if moving from TPS to LGPS. Average UK employer pension contribution is 4.5% allegedly.
I loved that little museum. There were some really beautiful examples of modern stain glass there.
Morning spent admiring ceilings in Peterborough cathedral. Think Ely still pips it.
I loved visiting this cathedral. It is really beautiful. The audio guide about Ethelreda was a surprise too.
Love watching #mubi films. My favourite way to unwind after a difficult day at work. Here are my top three of 2025.
This is a depressing read, esp the loss of 12000 jobs in #HigherEducation this year. But it pretty much sums up what it feels like to work in HE in the UK right now. Series of measures from Govt taking away with one hand what they have just given. Do the sums! www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Had one of those “glad to be alive” nights with my husband tonight. We started with lovely Spanish food & wine then a fabulous high NRG gig with Nile Rodgers & Chic - there is nothing like the collective experience of good music & dancing to lift your ❤️
Ely Cathedral is delightful. The audio guide is so well designed. I am enchanted by the story of Saint Etheldreda and will have to learn more.
Re-visiting the May celebration of Los Patios in Cordoba with my old Uni friend celebrating the fact we are still having fun 40 years after our “study” year abroad here in 1985. Glorious 🥰
Must be Easter. Our neighbours make these every year for our now very large adult kids 🥰
Lots of work to do. Why does it take so long to change for women? #internationalwomensday
