And the tram loops around and goes back to De Panne. There are trains every hour from the SNCB station - I’ve skipped the next one for the Cafe des Nations.
Not much of particular note to see in Zeebrugge, but the West Hinder lightship is now a museum.
De Haan Aan Zee has been a resort much longer, it seems, and has lots of what look like 19th C villas and this rather nice Hotel des Brasseurs.
Oops, someone installed the railings the wrong way here! Every other stop has had them in the direction of travel. (Bredene Duinenplein, in case you want to see the abberation.)
We now meander through Oostende docks, which are much more industrial.
A quick loop around the Mercator, and we arrive at Oostende station.
Oostende and my neck thanks me as we travel from the line map on my side of the carriage to the one opposite.
I really hope that does not mean what I think it means. Or maybe a British water company runs this section?
Between towns, this tramline belts along a dedicated section in the middle of the road. In towns, it often IS the road.
The railings at stops point in the direction the tram goes from that platform.
Today, I am taking the Belgian coastal tram from De Panne to Knokke. Stop one, after catching the tram at De Panne station: the unfortunately named Plopsaland!
