now i've had to watch this very, very slowly lol. it looks like the stretched or distressed the flag real subtly in the spot where he starts ripping and right at the white to get him started. if you pause and look extremely closely, you can see some mild discoloration at those two spots

captain von trapp is about to rip the nazi flag. on top of this, i've circled in yellow the fabric right between his hands, where you can sort of see CVT's tan suit peeking through, and the fabric right where the white background for the swastika starts, because there's a tiny reddish line there indicating a tear or distressing.

with everything else going on: tonight, the first musical i’ve worked on since GODSPELL in 2017 (!!!) opens. it’s been so nice to flex those dramaturgy muscles again, even minimally, and to work with some students on some Sondheim 💚 pics are my lobby display.

just ordered yarn for my first project of 2026, so here’s a look at what i did in 2025: got good at making baby blankets (pics are all pre-blocking)

the sweet culprit and the scene of the crime
