Dear Mom as I first knew her, now gone. She loved special days and this was always one of them.
I'd love to ask Woody to compare and contrast the Epstein scene with Hugh Hefner's Playboy Clubs. I think one of Epstein's idols growing up had to be Hefner and his empire, while Hef would have greatly admired Epstein's insider influence and reach.
Just published - "First They Kill You." My story of two cancers and stem-cell replacement. It's got self-doubt and bad dreams, medical marvels, helpful hallucinations and the love of family and friends. I judge it a damn good read but that's just me talking. www.amazon.com/First-They-K...
Peaceful protest in Waterbury, CT. Only vulgar note of hatred came from a guy wearing an InfoWars tee shirt who'd somehow gotten ahold of a bullhorn. He ranted for a little while, was completely ignored, and soon wandered off.
Pretty great to grow up in Waterbury CT and then one day have your name on the marquee of the legendary Palace Theater ("Sold Out," too!). It all ties into my harrowing, hopeful "illness memoir" on stem-cell replacement. You can see the first chapter at charlesmonagan.com. Publishers take note!
Ready to say goodbye to February with this clip from my 40-year-old book "The Reluctant Naturalist."
Oh to be young and at a Doors concert in a high school auditorium in 1967. doinkright.substack.com/p/break-on-t...
The brainless, anti-American Republicans are acting as if there's nothing wrong with this guy as Secretary of Defense. Look at him! They want him in charge of millions of men and women and trillions in weaponry. Who will save us from ourselves?
70 years ago I was the very picture of belief and faith. What in the world has happened to me since?
