Even though Coastal '26 is done, I need therapeutic adventures at field locations.
I let students take them home if they wanted to keep them, but right now have some in the teaching lab! :)
I am not one to follow "publish or perish", but, this deserves some pedagogical spotlight, into how art and science (nature) go hand-in-hand and allow us to reflect more deeply. I promised the students I would also take the time to do one. #SunSandWaterMud

3 field trips and 6 days, Coastal Ecology v. 16 week 1 is done. I am not exaggerating when I say I am covered in hundreds of midge bites. HUNDREDS.
My dad saw it, yes! It was deafening, too. Pieces of tree flew over a hundred feet away. A larger piece fell over into an old shed my dad uses to mill lumber, though, so that will have to get fixed. My mom had JUST gotten back from a walk before the storm flew over
Lightning 🌩 struck a tree right behind my parents' garage! So glad they were indoors when it happened.

Look, Facilities Management, EVERYTIME I enter the buildings, I do this, AND, EVERYONE around me is doing this. But, kicking off your feet and wiping on mats still make a mess when you have thousands of entrances per day in salty and snowy conditions.
This snow plan detour confuses me... so, basically... it gets people at the very first stop, and then none until it reaches Young street? I mean... the affected stops are ALL of the pickup spots for this express bus?? Tempted to go down Southgate and catch it there and see what it does....
Had to cut my run short this morning, my face was frozen and my balaclava and hood were frozen stiff and couldn't cover more of my cheeks. Stay warm friends!

Bus was on detour due to accident at the bottom of Larry U, so had to walk to Bedford highway to catch a bus, but pretty sunrise. Be careful out there folks, accidents everywhere!
