I love "Rios Negroes" on there and saw LB and a band including David Peaston and Fontella Bass at the Roundhouse in 83. Peaston's voice...oh my. Not quite as good as the astonishing one at the same place by the full AEoc the year before mind...
NP Bought on the strength of Wayne Shorter playing on it - and having had Memory Serves on release - this is is a real favourite of mine. Got from a record shop in Leadenhall Market I think... Laswell, Shorter, L Shankar, Skopelitis, Sly Dunbar, Bootsy, Bernie Worrell...and William Burroughs.
NP One of the great box sets of the past 20 years. The range of work that William Parker covers is exceptional. I can't help thinking that he is going to spring another box on us at some point...

I'm going back 10 years to when I was last in Ravenna and took a short ride over to Classe and the 6th century Basilica of Sant'Apollinare from which I give you the glorious apse mosaic. #MosaicMonday
If there is one record that is an immediate pick for #5DebutAlbumsSF3 it's this one. I heard a side of this in a listening booth in a Dean Street record shop in early '76 and it was the most astonishing thing I'd heard. 50 years on and it's still an incredible record.

NP CD4 Finally! After years of looking with dismay at the extortionate price that the 1995 box was costing, HMV had a copy of the reissue at a sensible price. And 41 years after buying the 2 x LP highlights album...which I can now give to the charity shop next time round.
Plus-Minus Ensemble gave a packed St Mary At Hill great performances at the final of the seven Spring/Summer concerts of @musicwedliketohear.bsky.social . Misread the title of the Feldman and thought we were getting all of the Viola In My Life...ah well...one for next time maybe?
When I was at Oto on Wednesday, Mary Dullea played a Cage tune 'In A Landscape'....and as soon as it started I thought "I know this!" I couldn't work it out until I got home and remembered it was on this which is NP. Pianist was Kerry Yong who, coincidentally, I saw last night.
Wonderfully varied programme with items Ancient & Modern (c.1760 to 2025) last night for @musicwedliketohear.bsky.social including some *very* visual pieces, and a Feldman (of course).
So 'current Justice Spokeswoman' as Reform TV said yesterday or retired? They are so desperate for this to be politically motivated - "see, this is why I needed that 5m donation!" But the Reform website doesn't mention her at all. Which is...odd.
Lowe seems to think that Restore are standing. He hasn't retracted this so far.

NP Loved the concept here of 1/2 Quartet & 1/2 Prime Time with having 7 of the tunes played by both outfits. "Mothers Of The Veil" stuck in my head from the first time I heard it back in the days. 'Bout time we had some of those unheard OC sessions released.
England pressed the self-destruct button last night and it appears there is no let-up. Bethell & Brook's shot selection were absolute shockers. And now Root run out?

NP It's July 2018 and I'm having a look at the CD racks in Cafe Oto. 'This looks interesting' I thought...and it became my first @anothertimbre.bsky.social album - lots more were to follow... And it just happened to be John Tilbury...
Had a walk around a very warm Valentines Park earlier. There was even a mass yoga class going on.
NP One of my favourite albums - a real stunner. And the long Bismillahi 'Rrahmani 'Rrahim featuring one of my favourite alto players - the undervalued Marion Brown. Also, trying to finish off an article or two for our next Newsletter.
For #RomanSiteSaturday I'm off to Glanum which I did in a trip out of Avignon in 2019. Fascinating site which I thought I was going to write about...but circs change and I'm (still) trying to get housing in Italy written up.
NP Nice bit of Handel from @brookstreetband.bsky.social Shopping done and put away, washing on...and my back door is open to the garden and I have shorts on! Summer is back baby...
NP I was looking for this a while back when I found the Bojan Čičić but saw the Rachel Podger yesterday in Foyle's and you can never have too much Biber!
I was there in 2019 on a trip out of Avignon - excellent museum as well.
