We tie horses up here with head collars and lead ropes, using a quick release knot in case of emergencies. My Connemara Cob cross was able to undo the knot and sneak off . We had to resort to using a few ropes to confound him

On it .Bikinis are too flimsy, a “ swim dress “ with moulded “ support” is far superior . No driftwood , but plenty fence stakes to borrow .

The two lighthouse keepers’ cottages on Arranmore island in Donegal are available to rent as well. Nothing quite stepping outside your back door and walking a few steps to the tower . As a bonus , we were there during a severe storm last year.

Since MS appeared , holidays changed to places that aren’t too warm and don’t have too many steps . This is my happy place , Wine Strand, Co. Kerry. Rain or shine, we get in to the water each day of our holidays .

The last Irish wolf was killed ( by a Protestant) near Fenagh , in Carlow. This piece in Fenagh marks it . . The author John McKenna recently and illustrator Faye Tucker recently produced a gorgeous bilingual book for children .
