Hello! We're Cornwall Council. www.cornwall.gov.uk
Check your voter registration details are up to date. Every household in #Cornwall will receive a letter or email as part of the annual canvass asking you to confirm who lives at your address. Keeping your details up to date helps make sure everyone who's eligible can vote.
Young people have an important voice in the future of NHS dentistry in #Cornwall. Rosie and Gabriel from Cornwall Youth Council share their thoughts on Cornwall's first Dentistry Summit, the challenges young people face getting dental appointments and what they'd like to see happen next.
Please don't bring fridges or freezers to #Cornwall's household waste and recycling centres. We're temporarily unable to accept them because of a national issue affecting how they're collected and processed. We'll let you know as soon as we're able to accept them again. Thanks for your patience.
Looking for affordable family days out this summer? We've rounded up free and low-cost activities across #Cornwall, with plenty of ideas to keep the kids entertained for £5 or less. 🔗 fis.cornwall.gov.uk/synergyweb/C...
A yellow heat-health alert is in place across the South West from 9am on Friday until 9am on Sunday. The advice may seem obvious, but hot weather can be dangerous, especially for older people, young children and those with existing health conditions. 🔗 www.cornwall.gov.uk/health-and-s...

Heading to the tip in a van, pickup or with a trailer? You'll probably need a permit, which gives you up to 12 visits over a 12-month period to dispose of household waste. Remember to bring your permit every time you visit. 🔗 www.cornwall.gov.uk/rubbish-recy...
The first residents have moved into a new development of 20 affordable homes in #Bude. Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Peter La Broy, visited to meet Emma, who recently moved into one of the new homes with her children. She told him what having a safe, affordable home means to her.
Looking for swimming activities this summer? The Time2Move Holiday Programme offers swimming lessons and fun water activities for children of all abilities across #Cornwall. The programme is fully funded for children eligible for free school meals. 🔗 www.activecornwall.org/parents-and-...
Batteries don't belong in your bin or recycling bags. When crushed in collection vehicles or at our recycling facility, they can explode and start fires. Recycle used batteries at any Household Waste and Recycling Centre or at battery collection points in many supermarkets.
We're trialling a new scheme to help stop NHS and council-issued medical equipment from being thrown away. Return unwanted items to dedicated containers at #Falmouth, #Truro, #Newquay and #Launceston HWRCs, where they'll be checked, cleaned and reused. 🔗 www.cornwall.gov.uk/health-and-s...
Children across #Cornwall are being invited to take part in the Cornwall Reading Challenge - and they’ll get a free swim voucher for taking part. Organised by @cornwalllibraries.bsky.social, the challenge encourages children to read over the summer holidays. 🔗 www.cornwall.gov.uk/council-news...

Two new children's homes are planned in #Cornwall to provide safe, stable homes for young people who have experienced abuse and trauma. Cllr Hilary Frank explains how the homes will help keep children closer to their communities and provide the support they need to thrive.
We're expecting more hot weather over the coming days, so our waste and recycling crews will be starting earlier than usual to try and beat the heat. From Wednesday, July 8 to Friday, July 10, please make sure your bins, bags and sacks are out for collection before 6am.
The yellow heat-health alert for the South West has been escalated to an amber alert from 9am on Wednesday, July 8 until 9pm on Sunday, July 12. Please take extra care during the hot weather and check in on anyone who may be at higher risk. 🔗 www.cornwall.gov.uk/health-and-s...
Fly-tipping has no place in #Cornwall. It harms our environment and costs money to clear up. If you spot it, please report it online. If you’re paying someone to take away waste, check they’re a licensed waste carrier and note their vehicle details. 🔗 www.cornwall.gov.uk/rubbish-recy...
