Shoutout to Borja Iglesias! In 2023, Rubiales' non-consensual kiss of Jenni Hermoso exposed years of abuse in Spanish football. While the federation closed ranks, Borja stepped away from the men's national team in solidarity with Jenni. Three years later, they met—as fellow world champions. ❤️💛🏆
As a foreigner living in Spain, I'm amazed by football's power to unite the country. When the national team plays, Spain feels truly united. It would be wonderful if that unity lasted, because every autonomous region is part of what makes Spain. Just as this World Cup victory belongs to all of Spain

Just a reminder that cis women will be the target of the majority of sports transvestigations. Transphobia is, and always has been, a close sibling of misogyny. And transphobes will use ‘fairness in sports’ as an excuse to police the femininity of *all* women.

Interesting how right-wing female candidates often win support across genders, while liberal female candidates are more likely to be labeled as radical. Maybe conservative women are more accepted because their views align with traditional male expectations of which issues women should support
