Tonight is my first time back at Madison Square Garden since Gamehendge on 12/31/23. This is my 36th show here, making it by far my most frequent venue. (Hampton is 2nd with 10.) My first time here was 12/30/97. I’ve seen a lot of #YEMSG posts the last couple years and I’m thrilled to be back!
This is my first time taking the Boston <–> NYC Chinatown bus since heading down to (some of) the Bakers’ Dozen. 1996, here I come! In a manner of speaking.
This is how we know Trey hates you, personally. He knows you really wanted that 30minute jam for your stats. He knows he could have easily whaled his way through another 53 sec. But he ended the song because he wants you to suffer. He loves the light that shines through your tears.
Notice how the two gentlemen on the right look like confident professionals, and the two on the left look like teenagers dressed up for that one time a year they have to dress up for some adult event where they don’t really belong. This is a skeet about shoes.
There’s some vintage Sir David Attenborough work going down in this @bbcamerica.bsky.social marathon. Older stuff I haven’t seen. This is “Attenborough In Paradise” (1996)
Hey I nick the fuck out of my head if I don’t continuously remind myself to slow down. But yours looks pretty ouchie.
OK, looking into it and my history with McGrupp is funny too: 5 versions between New Year's Run '95 and the Island Tour, including three successive performances of the song ... then ones in 2023 and 2025. (The latter I was even forgetting when I said my last version was MSHendge lol 🙃)
Best argument against the “no more outdoor shows” opinion. Lawn tickets are the last relatively “cheap” way into a Phish show.
I’ve never had a sticky toffee pudding but I’d just like to say I support this guy’s Whole Thing. (Wondering about the six other Sticky Toffee Pudding Guys who are apparently on Tik Tok as well.)
Oh right, this is the set with that loud (and low key legendary) guy who wants to show the folks around that he knows his stuff. Just heard the legendary (to some people?) “You just blew Miles off the stage!” — which he yells (in the tiny club) at Wayne Shorter.
Second song into the Plugged Nickel engagement and Stella By Starlight has completely deconstructed into a Herbie Hancock piano solo. Finally digging into the newly released vinyl box. (The CDs box is a near-mythical-to-me all time favorite and taste-maker.) #milesdavis
Ok now we’ve hit the root of the difference of opinion. I’m saying Platinum is simply a brand that TM puts on some tickets, which is how TM describes it. You’re saying it’s a resale program. If you’re right about that, you’re right about this whole thing and I’m wrong. The reverse applies also.
