Having reread "Explaning the Iraq War," (and a few reviews of the book) I find it baffling that anyone could fall for "if you think Bush had anything to do with it, you're a conspiracy theorist" unless they were a contrarian.

Came across this passage in "A Bright Shining Lie" by Neil Sheehan that made me snicker. It's almost a complete reverse of the "JFK would've pulled out" trope common in alternate history.
