Another legend has left us. I had the pleasure of spending a weekend hanging out tabling at at WFMU record fair alongside Dave years ago. Hard to say which was more impressive, his knowledge of punk, his welcoming nature, or his ability to tell music stories that would inevitably end in a jaw drop.
I am all about an afternoon show that is also free, seated, and 16+. See ya at 4pm RVA.

One week from today, Outer World's first NYC show. I don't think I have performed in Brooklyn in a decade or something - craziness for this once upon a time New Yorker.
I love ridiculous candy, but in this particular case, the only thing that was more terrible than the music was the taste of the lollipop.

Each pulled forward LP is a rock double, meaning my husband owns a copy of it too. We will have a LOT of mind melting rarities to sell a week from today, considering this is just the first few letters of the alphabet. Wish us luck, this is gonna be a lot of work!

There will never be anyone more passionate and knowledgeable about global grooves as Bill Lupoletti. He helped to put WRIR on the international music map and he has been integral to so many of us falling in love with songs from all over the world. We are gonna miss you Bill.
My brain is still woking on the David Byrne performance. It was so visually pleasing and thoughtful. Every moment was impactful and filled with intention.
Radar had been a great coach as we (Outer World) prep to play live as a two piece for the first time. Purring in place of applause is something I could get used to.
Kenny and I are playing as a duo tomorrow in NJ for the first time. We normally play as a 5 or soon to be 6 piece, so this is gonna be quite an exciting change up and challenge.
Pylon Reenactment Society does such a great job giving fans Pylon hits, but also noteworthy new matetial too. I am impressed I stopped dancing long enough to take any photos of their set.
Nape Neck was an absolute crowd favorite and should not be missed should you have an opportunity to see them perform.
Gonerfest 22! Here are a few favorite moments: Joel of Silkworm, Robyn Hitchcock who is also a master stortyteller, Sharp Pins who make it look like it wasn't a thousand degrees, and Twisted Teens - your new favorite band from NOLA.

We watched the Failure doc last night. I only had this promo copy of the LP, so I never knew Albini had produced it. Knowing this key detail now, the restrained power of this debut makes so much more sense. It really could not have been anybody but Albini at the helm. Faulure - Comfort (Slash 1992)
