Did you notice that?
First morning in the new cottage rental. Discovering the light. Playing house with the little pieces of decor brought from home.
Buddy made it to the 14th floor, also the occasional pollinator, and pigeons that are encouraged to moved on. My crow friend has lost contact.
Walnut St. Halifax c1950. My brother Malcolm with someone unknown. A glimpse of St Thomas Aquinas School. Very tidy.
Beach walk on Caribou Island and a Bridget Riley painting. Not exactly the same.
Stopped to admire the elegant spiral staircase made by Hillis & Sons in the Dingle Memorial Tower.
Every day there is a new bowl of nasturtiums. And yesterday’s bowl fades. The story of life.
Hot day but no shade at the Mumford Terminal (huddle under that tree). @hfxtransit.bsky.social & Halifax Shopping Centre (the owners of the Terminal) don't seem to care. Across the parking lot Walmart puts up shade cloth to protect their plants.
We are moving apartments over the next month. Giving the neighbours a heads-up.
I have begun a journey to unlock the magic in the bubble wand I got for Christmas.
Our frisky, downtown, bronze friends. Winston dons a traffic cone and Sir Walter enjoys a butt.
Morning is a good time to observe the terrace Sarus crane. A small female.
Sailing into a sparkling sunset. Swell sparkling water installation at Sobeys. @halifaxretales.bsky.social
At our old house we had a view that included our rhododendrons AND Queen Mary II. For a short moment.
On our way home we paused to admire the Maud Lewis Memorial, and the 1968 power station in Lequille, based on an illustration in the Diderot Encyclopedia.
Yarmouth was looking great on our morning walk. Cast iron gate posts and gate.
Odds and ends of a beautiful love affair: came upon the remains of the original Steve-O-Reno’s.
A couple of maintenance issues: those pesky trees keep growing and block views to identified features; and I suspect the designers didn’t intend the photo frame to capture an overflowing trash bin.
