My desk with my laptop, in a Genovese house and a room which once was the kitchen and the observation room of the pirates. An oil painting of an English sailor on wood- from an acquaintance. It took me six years to restore the house. Built circa 1888, on the remains of the Great Chian Earthquake, 1881.

A Turkish 🇹🇷 yogurt cake with Greek 🇬🇷 yogurt ?😱😱 Surely yes, when the Dubs 🇮🇪 ☘️ come to town and you *must* do a dessert for them to complete their four course meal. Recipe credits to one and only Claudia Roden: the Egyptian 🇪🇬 born British 🇬🇧 cookbook writer and anthropologist we all absolutely love.

Here are the main ingredients of the tougher cake: thick yogurt, eggs, sugar, flour, lemon juice and zest

Beat the egg whites and egg/ sugar separately, then fold together with the yogurt and the rest of the ingredients
