My email and I also sent one to the BC Minister of Mining and to my MLA.

You are a Canadian company based in Vancouver BC. You have just announced that you are hiring Kristi Noem as an advisor. I am utterly disgusted that your company would want to have ANY involvement with the person who not only shot her puppy, but was responsible, as head of of US Dept of Homeland Security, for the unjustified deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and for the detention and deportation, without due process of thousands of supposedly undocumented aliens, including small children who are US citizens. She is not a person that anyone should want associated with their company!

How could you possibly think this would go unnoticed by the Canadian public? How could you possibly think this would be an acceptable hire?

A lovely gift from my sister in law. A tree trunk sculpture covered in Australian Aboriginal fabric. We have a great relationship.. she makes art for me; I make quilts for her! And we play tennis together too!

I get hummingbirds on my little water fountain a lot. But they are kind of mean and won’t share. Unlike the tiny sparrows who just crowd together enjoying their communal bath.

Who is the sadist who designed the horrible plastic supermarket containers? Just wanted to have a few olives with my lunch but had to go to extremes to open this! I am old but my hands are strong from tennis and gardening and I needed a tool. What about folks with arthritis? And still plastic? Boo!

At least it was not eviscerated! My late Goldendoodle, Saffi, when she was a puppy eviscerated her Lamb Chop within a week of her arrival at our house! My son's late dog's Lamb Chop had to be put up out of reach whenever we went to their house! This was her with a mouthful of fluff from something.

Last December, I was about to go down to my sewing room in the basement and put the 9 blocks of this quilt together when I discovered the flood. Finally everything is back in place and, this week, I finished the top. Quilting will have to wait as I need to do my youngest grandson's grad quilt first.

This is a square quilt made up of 9 blocks. Each of the blocks is made up of small pieces in a variety of Australian Aboriginal fabrics. The background is beige. There is a border made from staggered strips with a dark fabric at the edge, a lighter fabric in the middle and the background fabric on the inside. The name of the quilt is Dangerous and it is a GE Designs pattern.

Easter Brunch at my son’s. My husband is allergic to nuts. This was one of 2 plates of pastries!

I have searched for how to remove the Apple music player display from my lock screen without turning off the music. I still want this on my control screen, just not on the home screen. From what I see, this may be a "feature" to the nerds at Apple but it is a BUG for me!!! HELP!

The lock screen of my iphone which has the Music control displayed. I don't want it there but I do want it on the control screen.

I don’t remember much about these books but when I was 6 I used to sit on the floor in front of the bookcase at the neighbour across the street and read them as long as they would have me!

In Memoriam Saffi March 20, 2016 - Jan 22, 2026 Today we said goodby to our Saffi. She had kidney disease. It was very peaceful and very sad. She was a good girl.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 24 Festival of Lights at VanDusen Gardens in Vancouver. A magical place.

It is nighttime at VanDusen Botanical Gardens during the Festival of Lights. THe tres and shrubs are decorated with many colourful lights which reflect off of Livingston Lake.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 22 Seagull on the fountain. There are lots of seagulls near us because we live near the sea but they seldom come into my backyard. This one stopped to drink from my fountain. I was inside when I took this but it seems he saw me.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 21 Winter scene at VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Unlike most of Canada, snow is maybe a once a year event in Vancouver. This was taken after one of those relatively rare events.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 20 This very colourful quilt is made from Kaffe Fassett fabrics. The pattern is Jolee by GEDesigns. It still needs quilting.

This as yet unquilted quilt top is made from Kaffe Fassett fabrics which are mostly reds, pinks and oranges but with some blue too. The blocks are long rectangles of the brightly coloured fabric with little diamond shapes of solid contrasting colours inset at one end.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 19 Magnolia flower at VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Because it is dark and rather gloomy outside, I chose a photo from years ago of this beautiful huge Magnolia flower.

A very large Magnolia flower fills the screen. The petals are pale pink on top and an ombre of dark pink to pale pink on the bottom. The centre is wine coloured.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 16 Cypress Pond in Autumn. Taken at VanDusen Botanical Gardens when we still lived in Vancouver.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 15 Covid Bush. This one’s for a laugh. A volunteer at Government House Gardens in Victoria BC placed dried allium flowers around a round bush to look like Covid under the microscope. Some light amusement at a difficult time.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 12- An as yet unfinished quilt top. This is Millie by GEDesigns. I was just about to start quilting it when our basement took on a bit of water from the atmospheric river that has hit the Pacific Northwest. It is safe, as are we, but it will be a while 'til I sew again!

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 11 Raindrop on a twig. A few years ago, I did an online course to learn how to get the most out of my iPhone camera and this was one of my macro shots. I like the reflection in the little droplet.
