it’s a stunning one I did not buy one but have noticed it in several places it’s that dark foliage too
before I left the library I browsed some local leaflets and magazines. The birdwatch Ireland one had lots of good stuff in it, it could have been the NPW one but lookielookie what I came across an article featuring Ciaran @gardeningwell.ie book which is a very lovely read #librarybathing
this poem caught my attention from FRANK O'HARA Why I Am Not a Painter and other poems it reminded me of a conversation with a poet artist friend the day before the book cover is very like on that’s on my booklist and can never find #librarybathing
the book I choose to sit with had a wonderful note on translation Oak, Life as a Tree by Laurent Tillon, 2025 is a very lovely book Translation by Jessica Moore, where she writes “Language deeply influences the ways we relate to the beings around us.” she mentions Robin Wall Kimmerer 💚
it was love to see Anja Murray’s book in the nature/science section we’d bumped into each other randomly at an EV charge point in Cork a week or so ago and had a catch up chat I was down @ the Rí Rá Mná live podcast for Kinsale Arts Week because they were interviewing Gilly McArthur
I looked at the economics section a rather odd array of books a mix of neoliberalism, capitalism, green washing and a sprinkle just a light sprinkle of new thinking #librarybathing
I did notice some specific books like this one that I gasped at the title published in 2025 ‘Great Irish Wives’ how is this still a thing in 2026 to be known as ‘woman of a man’ rather then a woman in your own right of its time I get it possibly it can be argued for but also 🤬
in literature and criticism a few books caught my eye one in particular because it was relevant to a big piece of mediation work I’ve just completed with a client but in general very much about my work & perspective with clients communication & “What else is possible?" lots of men published
while forest bathing is among trees library bathing* is among books which we make out of trees neither are silent spaces but both offer a kind space to be undisturbed I really enjoyed the civic third space and no pressure to buy 😂 or borrow a book I’d not been in a library for years
yesterday I went library bathing* I picked a random book to read I sat quietly dipping between chapters of a 200 year old oak written by a forest ecologist that’s known the tree since childhood not quiet, the library the books not new I needed a pause point *this maybe a new term I made up 🧵
😂 yeah I knew that was your next question in this particular shade I would suspect there is more green then blue in the mix it we look at the crossing cover spectrum or if you were to mix the colour yourself(ceramics a a bit different as you are also dealing with heat)
seeing more common blues in the garden this year a very lovely thing www.irishbutterflies.com/common_blue_... it’s also difficult to take photos of butterflies in this one ai attempt to show the beautiful patterned underwing
mesmerising sunset I’ve pulled in to watch it near Oulart Hill
on the train to Dublin, still no one pays any attention to the vernacular 1891 architectural heritage in Gorey railway station fair enough it is Monday morning
crazy cloud just hanging celebrating being a cloud nice mellow sunrise but it cold very cold, could do with gloves on cold
yes Marc that seems very logical this graphic may back it up also from the rather excellent Ceara Book of Leaves podcast in early 2024 I also think we should just make trim tidied up lawns uncool like deeply uncool
scam or legit? bank holiday Monday text? gov.ie would most likely have a .ie not .com but for busy cognitively over loaded resource scarce brains this would be a tempting and easy click I’d say scam you? my phone number seems to be active on a list somewhere
I’m meant to be turning my compost bin… I’ve nearly used all of current bin about to unload the hot composter and reload it with green & brown materials my system is now 1. kitchen veg/fruit waste 2. egg cartons 3. sticks, twigs, grass stalks and rushes from @ the garden
about an hour later I hear this tiny bird sound managed to get a photo so I could identify it after I realised it thank you merlin app a green finch brilliant flashes of yellow on wing and tail feathers its flight is very beautiful too
I got up early to play tomatoes in the polytunnel I did not get to over the weekend… is a furnace in there… send ice and cold drinks have small bits of work to do today and some research aim working through for a meeting Wednesday but mostly I have today off
