I mean they literally are law enforcement officers, not what I wish they would be. They are a federal law enforcement agency and every other law enforcement (and government) agency recognizes them as such. That's why they don't get arrested for shooting people, but that GEO employee did.

Its stated mission is to conduct criminal investigations, enforce immigration laws, preserve national security, and protect public safety. He's been clearly vocally opposed to NSPM 7 for some time. Him being a disgusting misogynist doesn't make that untrue. Bad people can be right about things. Glenn Greenwald is a piece of shit and was right about the Iraq war. Not all right wingers agree. It harms us to invent a world where they do.
