Anyway I found myself singing tonight a Hozier-y song I wrote because I was so enthralled with the use of specific imagery in Blood Upon the Snow to convey an abstract almost unnameable emotion. So I tried to do it myself. And it's not as good! But I'm still better off as a person/artist cuz I tried

enjoying this book! for expediency's sake I probably should have skipped the chapter on the evolution of popular medievalism since I took a few medieval studies courses back in the day, but that chapter is actually an engaging read in its own right. also, my cats keep trying to bite the book.

For added context, here are the other pokemon characters I have been Not Normal about over the last two decades.

Elite 4 member Will from Pokemon. He wears a black domino mask with a black and magenta vampire/magician outfit. His hair is purple.

Steven Stone from Pokemon. He has pale blue hair in a sharp anime cut, a dark gray suit accented by jagged purple, and metal detailing around his cuffs and elsewhere on his suit.

Cyllene from Pokemon Legends Arceus. She has pale blue hair, a stern expression, and a well-fitted but professional outfit on.

Rika from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. She is willowy thin with long turquoise hair pulled back in a low ponytail with a few long bangs escaping. Her well-fitted outfit is dapper and a bit insouciant.

7/4/25 - 7/7/25 S - self-care Adopted a kitten!! The world sucks right now, but not for this little guy!! And not for me when I'm with him! He is very smart and alarmingly adroit at using his front paws to bring things to his mouth.

Handed out over 150 masks at our local protest today! When we ran out of the ones we brought, a kind soul handed us 30 more surgicals to hand out. There were also a fair amount of people who showed up masked too!
