#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Seven Second Theory Another one act play, this time written and directed by two friends. Really interesting as well as humorous. A nice way to end my AmDram week.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Midsummer Night’s Dream Lovely outdoor performance of a magical show.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Girl in the Machine Intense play about the dangers of ai in a future verging on dystopian world. Very well acted!
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Kiss Me Play set in 1929 where a widow wants a baby so basically hires a donor then develops feelings for him. Well acted and very interesting story.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Series of one-act plays Escaped Alone by Caryl Churchill Odd play that I didn’t particularly warm to. Acting was fine though.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time Second time seeing this play this year. It’s a great show with both sadness and humour. This version used an ensemble of dancers/movers to portray emotions. It generally worked but could be clunky. Great performers tho.
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky A Midsummer Night’s Dream Regents Park Open Air Theatre is always a delight and this was beautiful. It was also hilarious and stuffed full of talent. Particularly liked the musicians as the fairies, Olivier Huband as Oberon/Theseus and Georgia Bruce as Puck.
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky YES! Back in the room where it happens to see Leslie Odom Jnr in Hamilton. Loved his performance as he’s clearly having fun with the role now. This show is special. From these seats, the whole stage could be seen which was amazing during songs like Satisfied.
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky Archduke Intense, clever and darkly funny play about the conspirators behind the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Great performances from all five involved. Loved the staging as well.
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky Our Public House Interesting play about a small town/village where no one voted in the last election so they become the target of media interest during a byelection. Cast were all decent, but the switch to singing to tell the stories didn’t always work.
I tried adding to this but it wouldn’t let me. Trying again! #Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky Jesus Christ Superstar My seats weren’t the best but … Great show with three incredible leads and a wonderful ensemble. Desdemona Cathabel was the best Mary Magdalene I’ve seen.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram #TheatreSky And the show was Rosencrantz & Gildenstern are Dead. Two superb leads who were utterly mesmerising. An interesting plot and a great ensemble helping things along.
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky #LondonTheatre The Truth This was ok. Not brilliant as got wearying towards the middle. No interval as only 90mins but I was still checking my watch. Mangan was too ranty. O’Hanlan nicely subtle. Hadfield was fine. Janie Dee wiped the floor with them.
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky #LondonTheatre Glengary Glen Ross Hmm. Play is a bit dated with the language. The gender swapping was off, mainly because they didn’t fully swap. Would have been far more interesting if they’d changed the characters to ambitious women. Performances were great tho
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky Allegra Light comedy with a darker undertone. Reminded me a little of Harvey albeit in a modern setting. I liked it but not sure how it will fare in the West End. Although it was a vehicle for Maureen Lipman everyone had some stand out moments.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Catch Me If You Can Having not seen the film, I wasn’t that sure what to expect although I read the book decades ago. This was fun and clever. Great songs, dances, performances and plot.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Mojo Absolutely brilliant play and superb performances from all in the cast. Funny, dark, violent, complex, entertaining. I’ll remember this for a long while.
#Crolla2026Show #LondonTheatre #TheatreSky The Devil Wears Prada Gird your loins! This is fun and colourful. Although the tweaks to the story weren’t necessarily for the better, it was still enjoyable. Vanessa Williams is superb.
Wow, I need to update! On The Town Olde-time Hollywood musical. Had some stand out performances, but was also stuffed full of random dance sequences, which wearied me after a while. #Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram
#Crolla2026Show #LondonTheatre #TheatreSky Grace Pervades Interesting story about Ellen Terry, Sir Henry Irving, and her children over several decades. Starred Miranda Raison and Ralph Fiennes - both of whom were excellent. Seat wasn’t the best but I enjoyed the play
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Hamlet: Into the Manosphere Quite brilliant production of Hamlet as the play lends itself so well to exploring misogyny. Particularly liked Hamlet, Gertrude and Polonius
Enemy of the People A new version of the Ibsen classic, with the gender-swapped roles adding a layer of misogyny. A tale of how doing the right thing ends so badly when you go about it the wrong way. One part reminded me of Coriolanus trying to appease the people. #Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram
Guys and Dolls Colourful, lively and with some stand-out performances, I very much enjoyed my trek to see this two nights ago. Not sure I’ve recovered from ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat’ yet. #Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram
Company Really good amdram version of this musical, where the theatre was transformed into Bobby’s apartment. Performances were spectacular. #Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram
Sherlock Holmes I love Regents Park Open Air Theatre. It has such a good atmosphere especially at night which really aided the enjoyment of this show. That said, this had a convoluted plot and at times was trying too hard to be a satire. Performances and spectacle excellent. #Crolla2026Show
My Neighbo(u)r Totoro (they put the ‘u’ in just before it started 😂) This was utterly charming. Loved the staging and the music. Also shout out to the curtain call which was one of the best I’ve ever seen. I know that’s odd to comment on but it was so much fun. #Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram Cygnets Proms Local theatre group put on a Proms night in the local church, performing songs from the last 70 years of great musicals. Wonderful night!
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky #LondonTheatre One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest Excellent play and some truly superb performances throughout. Tension held well and the pace was good.
#Crolla2026Show #CrAmDram The Watsons. A Jane Austen tale with a satirical twist. This was hilarious and brilliant. I’d auditioned for this and sadly didn’t get a part but that didn’t detract from watching it as everyone was so good!
#Crolla2026Show #TheatreSky #LondonTheatre Teeth n Smiles Set in 1969, thus didn’t feel dated but more nostalgic. Great performances from all involved. Awful pictures from me as I managed to take Self Esteem’s (Rebecca Lucy Taylor) mid bow.
