I have seen them alive at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California-even seeing them living and moving it is still quite an epic animal, like something out of a movie!

Two years ago we had a momma duck raise five ducklings to fledge and it was the most magical summer for us...here is the family nearly grown with one of my favorite childhood books.
Oh, be careful...our Golden managed to get away with a whole loaf of garlic bread when I turned my back to start the oven...(he crossed the rainbow bridge years ago...he brought us so much joy while we had him!)
Thank you for calling it out, it means a lot. My daughter is among those dehumanized when people use that word in a derisive context. As a student of history, what comes after is unbearable to contemplate. I expect the worst from this administration, and they are meeting that expectation.
I did some looking after seeing this photo as I thought WTF, the UCD incident *MUST* have sparked some change against this...unfortunately there are no national law enforcement use guidelines, it's kind of up to whatever administrative governing body to set those rules.
Anyone surprised by this has clearly not spent enough time around animals...😁
Our beautiful garden ducklings (and mummy duck) from the summer of 2024. We even got to see mom given them flying lessons until they left in August. Almost got all our ducks in a row, hahaha!
