Looking for ideas for my Safety Wizard (Hi-Vis Wiz) for Dragoncon this year. I might make an 'OSHA handbook' grimoire with a hidden compartment to hold my stuff (not that I need it, my robe has pockets) but other than that, I'm a little stumped.
Patchwork is done! Time to make the actual pocket (and pick out a binding material).
Huzzah! A thing emerges! (I might need to sacrifice more of that dark rust to make more hexes of it.)
Hobbitses need pocketses! So I'm doing English Paper Piecing for the first time to make an 18th century tie-on pocket as an in-between projects project.

If you ever wanted to know what 50 tea bags in a 5 gallon stock pot looks like. (Tea dyeing some linen for doublet linings. The fabric's optic white and I just want to take it down in brightness in case the lads wear them open.)

Kale intensifies. Can probably start parsimoniously harvesting leaves next week. Thanks to Nick's wellness stipend including gardening supplies, we have another bed coming. I plan on growing radishes in there, but what else?
Textura quadrata practice with pangrams. Consistently, g's, q's, y's, and d's are my biggest sticking points, but I'm getting better!
Got excited and added the detail hi-lo lights to the terra cotta and green colors. Now layering in the blues...
Building up blocks of color. Running dangerously low on blue, and pththalo blue at that. Will need to go pick up ultramarine and more yellow.
Painting a wooden box to hold my crayons for faire this year so they don't get broken. Since I love any opportunity to teach kids about medieval history, I opted for a cute little wyrm based on one in the Aberdeen Bestiary.
Reminder that I sell medieval hanging pouches made of wool, linen, and silk. Fully-lined, hand embroidered, with self-made tassels and historically-informed bells.
I know the teal-gray and brown tweed is pushing it, but I thought it was handsome. Of course I'm also recommending 'sheep's color', because then any accent colors you pick become a feature.

Saturday is Robin Hood Medieval Faire's first rehearsal, and it's looking to be a wee bit chilly. So I'm going to try to bang out a new hood for Tuck this week. (The pattern is by @opuselenae.bsky.social, with a little extra head pitch and no tail for that Franciscan look.)
I've got a deadline at the end of next week, so I'm putting in a few extra hours in the sewing room.

Pick-stitching the seams of this doublet- for visual interest and to keep the seams nice and flat.
Dinner tonight - 'Autumn Glow Grain Bowl' (I didn't name it). Roasted kale and sweet potatoes on quinoa, with apples, pepitos, chopped hazelnuts, crispy onions, bit o' Parm, and a mapley-mustardy dressing. Would make again.
