8. Chants of Sennaar [recorded] As brilliant as I had hoped. Thoroughly enjoyed every level, on many levels. The puzzle design and the world design both say so much with so little, the simplicity is effortless for something that must have been so complex to create. A beautiful experience.
The Courage to be Disliked [audiobook] I really really didn’t like this book. I didn’t fully take the concepts on board because the way it was written so thoroughly took me out of it. I spent 6 hours being irritated by a conversation that imo couldn’t have sounded less like a real conversation 🙈
☕️ Obsession This was a great time. A lot of moving parts to keep an eye on but the flare is fun. While we, the Yorks, failed miserably, we standby that we are rich in ways that can’t be measured by wealth, reputation or all your other typical materialistic ways.
Why can’t I just enjoy things? A comedians guide to Autism [audiobook] So incredibly relatable. Worth the read if you are newly diagnosed, wondering if you should be diagnosed, or just know someone who is. Given me a new way of looking at things with more understanding and acceptance of myself.

Disclosure Day [cinema] Mannn. I feel like the film ended where it should have started. Emily Blunt was great but there were so many ideas that never paid off, and so many ‘pay offs’ that weren’t earned. Too much suspension of disbelief for me on practical & emotional levels. I wanted to like it
💣 Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion I think I will share campaign games at the start to mark playing for the first time and at the end to celebrate completion. My first ever experience of Gloomhaven and so far, I love this. Very intuitive. I am playing the Demolitionist and she is called Atom.

Making a new DnD character for a one shot. This is Nova the small Aasimir Bard. She plays the pan flute. Her eyes change colour every time you look at her. Only the dm knows for now in case he wants to mess with the others 😂 If she gets chance to get more powerful they will become luminous too 🪩

7. V Rising [abandoned] Unfortunately I just have 0 desire to pick it back up. I don’t enjoy this style of combat, making the already transparent gameplay loop feel even more like it is going to be an unending grind. It is fun building a castle, but not enough for me.
6. The Talos Principle 2 While I liked this one much more than the first, I still found myself with the same issue of tiring of the puzzles, just getting through them because I wanted the next part of the story. Story and characters were really enjoyable though. Great food for thought.
For context, tonight we started up a casual, no build cost world with fresh characters on Valheim. I learned about the concept of Viking graveyards. 5 hours later and the compound is coming along quite nicely 😂

5. The Horror at Highrook It’s quite simple but that is kind of what I need right now. Has potential to be a gateway into other card crafting games for me. It’s hard to recommend based on gameplay alone, you need to be in the mood for what this is, but the aesthetic is good and it’s not too long.
💍 Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship Got absolutely wrecked on the first go but survived the second with a mix of strategy, lucky cards and dice. The game does a fantastic job of emulating the fellowships mission and every character playing their own part in the victory. Stress but fun!
Thrifty Business The chill shop simulator that I have always wanted. It invokes the Unpacking feeling of organising your shop and placing your preloved goods in the space you want them to go. Decorating the shop is a good goal for me and makes me 'one more day' to see what I might get next.
Project Hail Mary [audiobook] I’m so glad I enjoyed the movie enough to try the book because it is so much better in every way! What a well paced, well told story. Enjoyed the sci fi, the horror of whats happening, the joy & awe between and the resolution too. My first fictional audiobook listen!
🚂 Brass Birmingham The most complex board game I’ve played yet and also the first big game I’ve played with 4 players. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything went wrong, the cards dealt and the turn order meant my buddies kept happily swiping opportunities away. Need another go now I’m more familiar 😅

Starting a thread to highlight some demos! This won’t be all of the demos I play but a curated list of the ones that I enjoy the most or want to shout about. Old and new games, if there’s a demo then it’s fair game! At the start of this thread I have 91 demos on my spreadsheet to play. Lets gooo.
