if i had my way, we would get these freaks. if i had three more spots, i would add susie, ralsei, and quote (cave story)
I have a lotta favorites, but I'm just gonna shout out a fun deep cut animethemes.moe/anime/takara...
since other people did too, im adding some of my favorite art that @mochakaffe.bsky.social has done of my guys im so mad i can only post four in a single post
new d&d character my friend named her melouze (the z is pronounced like a soft j)
Sometimes this world is so cruel and you need an unrelenting ball of sunshine and limitless optimism to survive and face that cold reality. Nagomi Akiba Maid War is like the perfect example of that. One time she ate ramen so fast she puked it out. You can do anything. You can have it all.
Fidelio and Basilio are both excellent, but I'm of course naturally drawn to the angstier, more tragic one who had to grow up fast and who struggles to unlearn the front he put up to protect himself and his brother. It's such a shame they put their confidence, trust and loyalty into the wrong guy...
There are a lot of good Pokémon characters, but my favorites all share something in common: a complicated relationship with an adult in their life, usually a bad parent (Silver, N, Hop, etc.) I really like Lillie's arc in the original Sun and Moon where she stands up to & leaves her abusive mom.
Catherine Animal Land, I will always be your strongest soldier. What a stubborn, lonely fool. She finally got to convey her feelings in the end... she was loved all along. 🥲
Lady with the most trauma in the world... Well... Berserk puts everyone through the torment nexus, so idk if I can say that in a series like this, but her Religious Trauma and journey of recovery? They hit. I'm so happy for her
Asa Mitaka, the trainwreck that you are.... tbh I did not like Chainsaw Man until I got to part 2 and met Asa. She's suuuuuuch a loser. I don't think anybody has ever had anti-rizz on her level before. Part 2 just puts her into a little box and shakes her around, and that's what I like in a story.
There are definitely more *compelling* characters in Tower Dungeon than Churafi, but she's the heart and soul of the series to me. She makes me think of Mimi in the way she is so candid and wears her heart on her sleeve. I think she and Aridellia should date.
Zealark from Ablus Changes the World/Kaiten no Albus is just... a funny guy! You wanna follow around the hero because his "story is fascinating?" Sure, whatever you say, li'l guy. Of course that's why. Every time he talks to Albus, my yaoi radar goes off the charts.
Speaking of formative characters, Midna's arc was huge for me. If I didn't like villains/assholes/antagonistic characters who softened over time before, I think this was the clincher for me. And the little pieces of tragic yuri they gave her with Zelda in the manga? Gobbled it up
Ken Ichijouji from Digimon Adventure 02 a real wake-up call to the allure of pathetic little sadboys who struggle and fall and find redemption. Get you somebody who looks at you the way that Wormmon looks at Ken. Or the way that Davis looks at Ken tbh.
Next is Hiruhiko, Kagurabachi's premiere evil little twink. Zenos walked so he could run face-first into a wall. He just wants to play on da playground with the only person he's ever tried to connect with, but Chihiro won't even look at him. Parasocial idiot savant.
first up is Yotsuyu Brutus from FFXIV: Stormblood. There are a lot of great FFXIV characters, but she's still probably my very favorite. My silly rabbit. I'll never forgive what they did to you... You deserved so much better. She's so tragic and cunty and full of hate.
also raspberry!!! she got a new familiar in the last session & so i really wanted to draw them together
watched @tiredkatsu.bsky.social play the digimon story time stranger demo and acted as her operator. it was a lot of fun!!
