#tavqotd hi, i have exactly one rant the "yeah we been knew" lines about Star's vampirism have been driving me insane since they were implemented

listen, i understand Astarion is obvious to us, the players, but that's only because we know vampire tropes. in universe, it is borderline impossible for anyone to know because he is not a pile of ash. day walkers are so incredibly rare, they might as well not exist. also! having red eyes could just be some drow ancestry and there are multiple types of elves that have pointy teeth.

if anyone is incredibly obvious and should have dialog about it, it's Shadowheart. she is literally covered head to toe in Sharran iconography the moment you meet her. literally anyone with a decent religion score or at least can pass a dc16 check would know immediately what all of that is. us players wouldn't necessarily know that, especially since bg3 was a lot of people's first experience with faerun, but that does not change the fact that her default armor is a neon billboard that says "I Love Shar"
