Finishing Steven Erikson's Malazan series and watching The Odyssey on IMAX on the same day was peak synchronicity. Malazan is unfilmably long and complex (a masterwork), but watching Nolan's latest felt like watching 3 hours of scenes from the books, with similar themes in both. Art rocks.
