Little lost demon, lurking in shadows
@d3m0nlurking
Xennial sapphic trans femme/them trying to find community in the digital wasteland.
This is what a history of insomnia and swing shifts looks like. 🤷♀️
Listening to yinz discuss the Empire Bins I felt the need to look up some images. And I am seriously reminded of these public dumpsters that they’ve got sprinkled around Barcelona.
I started at 47. The WPATH SoC did not recognize me as trans until 2012. Still took me another decade to acknowledge that transition was something that I could do.
I’m always reminded of this chart. It doesn’t show that there was a rise in left-handed people between 1900 and 1950, it shows that once society stopped stigmatizing being left-handed, we began to see the true numbers. Lefties have always been nearly 12% of the population, they just hid it before.
Today’s episode of Questionable Content by @ass.golf contains the following line. I think there might be some commentary there, especially given who’s speaking. Thank you Jeph for saying that so clearly and simply. I wish more people would think of it that way.
Thank you Sherry from @sherrycdrom.bsky.social for a wonderful evening.
@sherrycdrom.bsky.social show tomorrow More info at www.poetrymillvale.com/event/sherry...
Saw this posted with the commentary asking if the word “eliminate” is good when they’re talking about You. Couldn’t quote repost or reply with alt text, so I figured I’d do it this way. Credit to @mattielubchansky.com Also, I’d like to call out the ableist usage of the word “insanity” as well.
I am absolutely in love with this series. It’s from the setup, Justice League: Intergalactic, this this is the one that really kicked off my love of this series:
It seems permanently stuck at zero. 🤦♀️ It makes me think of the sticker we have up at work.
Same moves, same playbook. I expect, in the long run, same end result. It’ll take time. It’ll be rough. But we just need to persevere and persist.
Tonight I attended a board game night at a local sapphic coffee house. Met some great people, had fun. This was my TDoV fit:
For those keeping track, this is what hatred looks like. This is three years of our government systematically attacking a minority community. Thanks to Erin Reed (@erininthemorning.com ) for creating these images and for continuing to report on these issues.
A little while ago EJAE played a demo for What It Sounds Like during an interview. There's a portion that was cut during the edit that really hits home sometimes and I really wish they'd left it in. It makes some of lines they kept in the song make more sense.
Reskeet with your home river. It may not be the rivers of my current home, but this is the river of my youth and I will always have fond memories.
There are too many people willing to pull that lever. Conservatives actively trying to eliminate trans people from society, centrists thinking that agreeing with them to get more power, and everyone else who just doesn’t care. We need more people willing to keep that lever from being pulled.
Without downloading anything, where are you mentally right now?
This one goes out to all the Babylon 5 fans out there…
We deny the patriarchy and that makes them fearful of the day when they are no longer in control. Today they are actually talking about it… One day, they _will_ come in the night. NOW is the time to stand up and do something. Not tomorrow, tomorrow may be too late.
Thank you @sherrycdrom.bsky.social and @progesteronipizza.bsky.social for an amazing show. And Claire absolutely blew it out of the water with that intro to Kaiju. Thank you!
Chris Knight: Don't eat that! Girl at Party: Why? Chris Knight: Don't you know that eating that stuff can give you very large breasts? [looks down] Oh, my God! I'm too late!
Fine, let’s do this. If you want to be a girl, you can just _be a girl_. 34 -> 49
