Father. Artist. Liberal. Jesus and Fred Rogers. Horror movies and Stephen King. Love wins and Love is the only thing that ever saved my life. Autumnal disposition.
A coworker has been curious about my artistic past. Here’s a cartoon version of my kids in Cat in the Hat style. A Herman sketch. A fun imaginary beer mascot I designed for a beer brewer friend. An entry I submitted for a MOTU contest.
In sixth grade, I chose to carry a Masters of the Universe lunchbox the entire year. It solidified my nerdom. It was fun tonight to see my childhood heroes, myths, and legends on a movie screen! All these characters I grew up with being shared with new generations.
This dude leans into being the antiChrist like it’s one more award he can claim.
Project Hail Mary is a beautiful movie. It’s been a while since I’ve had that “transported” feeling in a theater, where you’re left feeling like you’ve been somewhere else for a few hours, only returning to reality as you hit the restrooms afterward.
Gage 16 years ago. I heard water splashing coming from the bathroom. Ran in expecting all kinds of messes, but instead found him trying to plunge the toilet. No mess. Still had to put a stop to it, and he was obviously not happy.
Salisbury steak or onion soup. I shaved onions really thin (carefully with the guard & a safety glove). Halved mushrooms so the one kid can pick them out. Doused it with beef broth & onion soup mix. Topped it all with thin, frozen burger patties & baked it. Cheese at the end, and ate it all as soup.
It’s such a good feeling to know you're alive It's such a happy feeling you're growing inside And when you wake up ready to say I think I'll make a snappy new day It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling The feeling you know that we're friends
For weeks on end, I have to smell them baking all the cinnamon things at Costco. I don’t indulge often, so I’m enjoying the “BUTTER CINNAMON SUGAR LOAF” this morning with my avocado toast.
Cliche eighties teen comedy in all the worst ways. Humor for twelve year olds.
November is often a month that I turn to poetry. I don’t write poetry, but I’ve always enjoyed it, especially (as this poem states) when home or love sick.
I would not thrive in a tropical climate, but I love tropical plants! Banana plants can grow up to 25 feet tall for certain varieties. They are not trees. They are herb plants.
Halloween is creeping in at Costco. Nightmare Before Christmas. Disney. Bluey. Etc.
I followed a Soft Parade with a Guinness foreign Extra Stout because I contain multitudes. <foreign means imported from the country of origin, which means its better>
I’m not sure I can find the words to express what this man’s music has meant to me. Right now, my only comfort is knowing I can still tune in. Few celebrities have had such an influence in my life. At some of my lowest points, I heard my own life in his songs. That saved me.
