The Realbotix homepage is exactly as horrifying and shoddy as you’d expect, but the illustrative product videos they have autoplaying are … really something else www.realbotix.com
This copy of Thornton Wilder’s _The Bridge of San Luis Rey_ looks like it’s about cool wizard shit, instead of merely containing a heartbreaking meditation on grief, love, and the capriciousness of a divinity that has placed a full capacity for overflowing joy and infinite sorrow in every human soul
Behind every (alleged) great crime lies a Delaware business entity registration form, a continuing series… “Freedom Fuel Network, LLC” is the DE entity (file no. 10671921, CTC reg agent) that, per Yahoo, controls the govt-run(?) gas stations Trump announced on July 1st. (Created on June 23, 2026).
I am part of this episode, yes (and yes the t-shirt mentioned in it is real), but don’t fear - it’s the same excellent RIP Corp content you’ve come to expect and enjoy Though if you listen, fair warning: you might get “Delaware-pilled”
At the annual meetings of the Wilmington & Brandywine Cemetery corporation, decisions were made by proprietors voting. They didn't vote their shares, though – it was a GRAVES=VOTES operation. (The more resting places you claimed, the more power you had!) 10 Del. Laws, c. 27, Feb. 6, 1845, p.27.
TIL you can go to the Moody's website and read their (credit) ratings methodology. For any sector! Go see why we can't have nice things. (Also! that Moody's takes a *literally* unreconstructed view on US states' sovereignty, e.g. the CW did not end the "contractual" interp. of the Constitution)
Just two bros wearing sun glasses together, enjoying a 12 bar blues bass line as they walk through this life “Ain’t Love Grand?”
The degree to which this line is delivered flawlessly but without any prior plot foundation is amazing
I am kind of interested to know how they did this shot. Was it just editing one frame? The other, tighter in stuff is clearly redressing a set / makeup, but a whole cityscape …
Roddy Piper following behind Keith David like a dog who doesn’t admit he wants to be friends is very funny
Settled in to watch a movie that’s dialed in to a level of patriotism appropriate for the times: John Carpenter’s THEY LIVE (1988) (my first watch)
It makes sense, sometimes, to cite yourself, though vanity sometimes leads senior scholars to solipsism .... But the author of this piece does something I've never seen before. In the introduction, he provides a citation to his own work – that is, *to the article you are currently reading.*
Guess which prestigious law firm the attorney drafting Delaware’s new “rules” to allow AI to run companies without any oversight or liability works at? Just take a wiiiiilllllld guess
And of course, everyone knows what Delaware's state bird is, right? The Blue Hen (Chicken)
The means that Big Egg used to manipulate prices are also DE entities: the exchange market they put in bids on is run by Egg Clearinghouse Inc. (file no. 772045) and the market price reporter’s publisher is Urner Barry (file no. 2326194).
Behind every great crime lies a Delaware business entity registration form, a continuing series… 3 out of the 4 companies settling with the DOJ for unlawfully coordinating to inflate egg prices are Delaware entities, as are the companies they used to lay these fixed prices.
Update: the Delaware Democratic House Majority Leader’s attempt to gut her own party’s utilities affordability bill has failed. The law enacting minor restrictions on the utility company’s ability to gouge consumers (through shady accounting) will now go to the Gov’s desk.
Behind every (alleged) great crime lies a Delaware business entity registration form, a continuing series… World Liberty Financial, Inc., the entity Trump used to amass the $1.4 billion mentioned in his Reuters report, is of course a Delaware corp, file #4943581, w/ CSC their registered agent
Gov. Meyer's working theory is that if the state mandates local tax cuts for landlords, then affordability will ...<waves hands> ... trickle down to renters. As Spotlight dryly notes "[i]t is unclear, however, if lowering taxes on landlords would directly correlate to lower rent costs."
Don’t forget that Delaware’s governor spends time on X reply-guying to billionaires demanding concessions on crypto, AI, and corporate liability
Delaware state officials - most recently in the news for retaliating against experts who asked for confirmable data on state corporate franchise revenues, and then fudging important annual reports - think this legislation would make the state money through franchise fees.
This draft legislation would create a state committee that would grant ad-hoc liability exemptions to AI entities - shielding their owners & investors, who otherwise would be on the hook, from any consequences of the decisions their AI made. It’s a “zero accountability, ever” bill.
The lobbying group did all the usual stuff - gave public comment, wrote legislators, and threatened to sue (by highlighting that similar laws elsewhere were challenged by payment networks in court). But they also did a Facebook & IG ad campaign, and that appears to have been quite important.
Unwise to be throwing so many stones from a glass house if you ask me, but I'm not a cosmopolitan Wilmingtonian who subscribes to the evening journal in order to know the social comings and goings of "Miss May Caulk"
