overhauling my oldest oc bwcause i realized i needed it to be way sexier YESTERDAY

my oc ARC. it's a humanoid robot with white/gray/orange components. it's face is mostly a blank domed visor.
it has a kind-of berserk mode where all the limbs extend a little, the posture shifts to hunching, and the face opens up to reveal sharp teethlike edges and a long tongue.

notes in the top corner read:
- doesn't remember purpose
- something violent?
- unusual parts compared to local bots

some emotional support secunits lalala

murderbot, standing with it's arms crossed. it looks mad (the usual amount of mad)

murderbot and secunit three walking alongside one another, with some drones flying along behind. mb looks it's usual amount of wary, and three has a more open/curious expression. I like to think that mb has less of a personal space issue around other secunits for the same reason that secsystem sees them all as components instead of individuals - even if it doesn't realize this and would swear it is even more wary of other secunits in general.

various drawings of murderbot, mostly with it's platform-decay look but a couple of drawings from earlier as well (mainly three carrying an injured MB from network effect) in other drawings art is pestering it, leaning over it's shoulder. in one, drawing, a damaged art-drone is seemingly tossed into a shocked murderbot's arms (this doesn't happen anywhere in the story). on the right there's a drawing of murderbot from the side, walking by with drones and art-drone hovering near.

two drawings of murderbot crying, moving to hide it's face/rub at it's eyes. this is something that is physically impossible for it (at least i am pretty sure this is impossible). I like to think this would be a useful modification for it to more effectively relieve stress and flush out all those anxiety hormones and stuff but it would never EVER want to have such a yuckydisgusting involuntary physical reaction.

Drawings of Miki from Rogue Protocol. there's a few design sketches (tezuka-esque with big googly eyes) and a redraw of the scene where murderbot has to withdraw from miki's feed when it gets upset that miki is allowed to sit down around humans. MB is crouched in a dark, small closet space, looking utterly miserable.

Various sketches of Murderbot carrying Tula around in platform decay. there's the scene where Sofi falls asleep on its shoulder, the scene where Farai clings to the back of it's shirt with her eyes closed (afraid of heights), etc. in every one Tula is clinging to Murderbot's chest, and MB has at least one arm supporting her.

Three giving Murderbot a thumbs up at the end of Platform Decay. Murderbot is at it's limit for positive emotions and it turns away, hands over it's face in frustration. Three's awkward and friendly nature seems to embarrass Murderbot a lot.

got to platform decay (im not done yettt but i got excited about drawing murderbot's new look lala)

drawings of murderbot in platform decay. there are a couple drawings of it's preferred clothing (practical looking jacket/pants in dark blues and blacks) and the outfit it wears to blend in in the beginning of the book (loose cream and brown clothing. half untucked collared shirt and baggy brown pants) at this point i've drawn all the different stages of murderbot's hairstyle. it's hair is now mostly a natural brown with only a little bit of plasticky grayish blonde left, and it's changed to a curlier texture. it's supposed to have grown a bit longer, too, but i kinda overshot the length in the previous stage hairstyle, and curls would shorten it anways, so i'm keeping it kinda where it was. hehe.

one must imagine sisyphus, a sinkdog fanzine by meee. sinkdog is drawn similar to her original pose, but full of dirty dishes, grimacing, and dripping dirty water everywhere.

now for the comic:
sinkdog is laying on a cluttered, filthy counter. she's surrounded by dirty dishes, and her basin is full of dishes and dirty dishwater, which trickles out as she sits up on her elbows, looking exhausted. in the next panel she is throwing a dish and leaning forward, causing her contents to come crashing out of her onto the floor.

on the left page she's standing, tethered to the counter by a drainpipe, looking at the shattered mess of dirty dishes and dishwater spattered on the floor. the remnants of her basin pour down her legs.

text at the top of the next page reads: a friend for sinkdog. Her name is Daisy.
sinkdog sits on the countertop, broken dishes on the floor around her. she apologizes to Daisy, who is sweeping up the broken glass. Daisy responds "it's okay!"
in the next panel daisy is washing dishes in sinkdog, who is laying on the counter, looking away with tears running down her face.
"it will get like this again." sinkdog comments.
"and i'll help you again." daisy replies.
"even if i never get better?"
"of course."

next spread: we see a clean, normal sink, and sinkdog getting off the counter, now a regular intact dog character, freed from the mental block that was the dirty dishes.
daisy clasps sinkdog (who is now more naturally coloured and dressed) on the shoulders and says "i hope i could unstick you a little bit." sinkdog smiles tearfully back.
in the final panel they hug. one of them says "i love you." sinkdog looks relieved.

i'll just quote the text here since it does it best:

some murderbot drawings: the scene in artificial condition where ART offers murderbot the option of bottom surgery so that it can better pass as human (the transgender levels are off the charts). a variety of pixelated junk is displayed on art's interface. Murderbot resolutely refuses, looking grossed out. there's also a little before and after drawing of a standard secunit in armor and murderbot's appearance later: a bit shorter with longer hair and different clothes.

finally. my network effect log

drawings of murderbot. it's wearing a Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland (or PSUMNT) shirt and thinking "i hate this stupid anagram. acronym. whatever" (this is something murderbot mixes up in the books). there's also a drawing of murderbot with damp hair and a fluffy towel. both drawings make use of bathylychnops' clumpy mascara brush (a recreation of it since i dont use csp) for little accents around the lines. im a big fan !!

many drawings of scenes from network effect and also made up imaginary stuff of my own.
for the canon interactions: there's the part where murderbot sulks in the bathroom and amena talks to it, the scene where art makes murderbot's uniform too nice, and the scene where murderbot pretends to be overwhelmed about the crew putting it back together when it's actually overwhelmed that everyone cares so much about it.

non-canon interactions: murderbot waking up, stretching and yawning. murderbot does not sleep or stretch or yawn so this is not even a headcanon its just for my enjoyment. there's also murderbot giving a double middle fingers in sweats and a loose crop tshirt with it's favourite show on it (arrow pointing to it says art made pajamas). another drawing has murderbot in a sleeveless top, angrily demanding sleeves (art says ok lol).
last, some reference drawings of murderbot's body. it's legs are entirely mechanical looking, as well as parts of its hips and torso. many parts of its body are flesh or fleshlike synthetic material, but lacking any sexual characteristics (or other distinct body details like a belly button). overall it's androgynous, and not just default-masculine.

murderbot, watching some of it's peers and crewmembers interacting. it thinks: "IDK why everyone tolerates my weird and offputting behavior." ART is saying to murderbot: "if anyone besides me is mean to you i'm blowing everything up." the humans (iris, amena, ratthi, thiago, mensah, etc.) are all thinking the same thing: "if anyone is mean to secunit i'm blowing everything up"

finished reading exit strategy murderbot is the most touch starved touch averse person everrr

various sketches of my idea of murderbot and how it looks in the fourth book. it's hair is scruffier, more brown coming in as the modified hair grows out. there's a drawing of the scene where murderbot meets pin-lee ("hi"), a drawing of murderbot pretending to eat and thinking of the AM hate monologue (faking eating is especially yucky and horrible for Murderbot, who has no esophagus and has to aspirate chunks of food to cough up later), and a drawing of murderbot injured/bleeding and looking serious.

a drawing of murderbot, curled up and covering it's face as it remembers times it was touched (or not touched) by humans in acceptable ways. there's the scene where it rescues Abene, Pin-Lee touching it's shoulder with prior warning, Tapan sleeping close to Murderbot's back, Maro giving murderbot a no-contact hug, and of course Dr. Mensah hugging Murderbot and the two of them holding hands. at the bottom is a line from Daft Punk's Touch: "I remember touch."
