It took the state almost 3 weeks after the Supreme Court ruling preserving vote by mail for me to get this by mail. 🤔
I seem to always end up stopping at the Angola Service Plaza on my way back from Pittsburgh. I don't plan it; it just kinda happens.
I got a lucky bean in the mail today. People in the Victorian & Edwardian Eras considered a lot of items lucky - beans, acorns, wishbones, four-leaf clovers, the #13, oak leaves, etc. These charms were often given as love tokens while courting. I think the beans are fun, so I got one.

Look at the fun set I just got in the mail. The fishing pole is a brooch & all of the fish bend, too. Need to polish it up & change the earrings from screw-backs to pierced studs. (Please keep it clean.) They're probably 1930s. There are some fly fishing lure brooches that I also have my eye on. 😇

Runner up, at least on my phone, is a picture of me when I was 18 with my dad. And, I'm wearing a one-inch "heel" & he was 5'10". This was at the local festival queen coronation, which I didn't win. Thankfully.

Just got this fun sterling silver necklace in the mail. It looks old, but both the earrings & necklace are actually from the 1950s. Unfortunately, this style can only be found in & around Germany, & I haven't come across a common name for it, so it's really hard to find. I still need to clean it....

Last one - this is the Hudson River bridge just south of Albany. Why it's light blue, I have no idea. Most steel bridges are in various shades of green, in my experience. The fact that the Hudson River isn't the border between NY State & Massachusetts always throws me for a loop, for some reason.
This isn't as good as the 600 miles to NYC sign in Ohio on I-80 (which is outside of Cleveland, if I remember right), but still. It's about 350 miles east-west on I-90 from one end of New York State to the other, if anyone was wondering.

Because the world is on fire, & it's stressing everyone out - whether they realize it or not - I suggest we all start practicing pausing before we say something, instead of just reacting.
I mean, I'm not going to take the chance that something like this gets broken or stolen, you know? And it's not even made of diamonds & gold. Besides, it's already missing a leg. (No, you can't wear it. Get one of your own.)
I went to the Asian Supermarket in Worcester for soybeans, & also found hobnail cast iron tea cups. It's not a perfect match to my cast iron teapot, but they still work & match the cast iron teapot warmer that I have. 😇
It took me a few times to get the hang of the tools & the expectations. I was consistently lighter than the original color, but I got the tone mostly right. I've always had a decent eye for color, tho. dialed.gg?c=CE458G
