My phone is complaining about how it doesn’t have enough space to install an update but more than half my storage space is the OS and system data 😤
Jessica spotted this guy in the garden on a dill plant — so probably a swallowtail
my mind is reeling over a modern tech company implementing a feature I actually want
We planted oregano years ago for our bunnies and it’s basically become an out of control weed at this point. But the local bees seem to really like it
A nice summer canoe outing until right at the end when Jessica dumped me into the marsh 😭
This is pretty funny because while I am all for learning to do bike maintenance, whenever I do bring one of our bikes to a shop it's like, "Well two of our mechanics worked on it for 45 minutes so really sorry we're going to have to charge you $11 including parts."
Just setting some reminders in Outlook for stuff I have to do later in the summer
I finished What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, so maybe I’ll try to give Dune another go…according to this book cover it’s now a major motion picture
This is so dumb. Everyone already consumes more waaaayyyy more salt than the RDA and a sports drink is basically useless unless you're currently suffering from cholera (I mean, if you like them as a beverage have at it but even endurance athletes don't really need ~electrolyte~ drinks)
Instead on the weekend I grabbed What I Talk About When I Talk About Running for a reread and am cruising through it
good god in heaven I am in agreement with Pierre Poilievre globalnews.ca/news/1191687...
I've been plodding a bit lately, but continuing to work on fleshing out spell casting in Delve #delve #roguelikedev
Next up is Katabasis by RF Kuang! I liked Babel but I think Kuang is a bit too grim and miserable for my tastes. However, the premise of this one sounds so fun
This is me for many, many things but currently it is landing in regards to Genshin Impact updates and lore after not having played for over a year
I…I think this is an escape room/scavenger hunt thing but does the Winnipeg Zoo just release the polar bears on hapless visitors once in a while??
The next thing I'm working on is adding spell components to Delve, very much in the vein of the Ultima games. I'm a coward, though, so you don't have to pre-mix spells as in U4 and U5, you just automatically use the components a la U6 :/ #delve #roguelikedev
Next book up is Anne Leckie's Translation State! Which, I believe I pre-ordered and it's been sitting on my bookshelf for three years... Praise me for knocking off something from my to-be-read pile!!
Updated Delve to 0.6.1! A few small tweaks and squashed bugs I've found since 0.6.0. I also reworked the Phase Door spell for Moon Daughter followers so that it is a directional jump instead of teleporting to a random nearby tile. (Scrolls of blink remain a random teleport) #delve #roguelikedev
This ornamental plum tree has been sad sickly since we bought our house 20 years ago and we’re surprised each year when it blooms
I quite enjoyed the Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo! A fantasy set in early 1900s Manchuria, drawing on folklore about foxes. Recommended if you like a bit of mystery along with some sweet characters and some charming rogues,
“Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.” - Douglas Adams
