#quiltsky #sewingroomstorage my husband added more cabinets for me today. Also, I’ve gotten some questions about the quilting ruler hanger so I’ll post another short video hopefully explaining it better.
#quiltsky #organization Clear acrylic is hard to see, especially with the shadow from the cabinets but I’m super happy to have this. I can stack multiple rulers on each hook and he’s ready to make a vertical version should I need it.
If you check out our YT channel in my bio you can see all of the acrylic we have cut. I don’t film or post the quilting rulers he makes for me because they aren’t our own designs. He makes them for my use only, but I post a lot of our original pieces. Here are a few photos.
#quiltsky #pantograph It has been an adventure today,it’s the first time I gave paper pantographs a sincere effort. I’ve never been terribly good at coloring within the lines, both literally and figuratively. I learned how much resting my left hand on my ruler base helps me control the machine head.
#sourdough Today’s bake. I feel like the dough splooted. It’s delicious, but splooted.
#sourdough Despite the despicable truths about our world today, beauty persists and remains in the eye of the beholder. Though it is as impractical as the costumery striding down a couture runway, a lacey AF loaf of sourdough is beautiful to me. It sure doesn’t hold melting butter though!
#quiltsky A little change of pace for me today. Two 8” hot pads, (Plum Easy Patterns)made mostly with scrap from other projects. While not identical I thought there was enough commonality to pass them off as a set. Would anyone here be miffed to receive these as a set? My first try at folded stars.
Thank you so much. I had weird lighting when I took this photo; I had taken these before I did the binding. I think the stitching is easier to see here.
I have a Baby Lock Regalia on a ten foot frame. It’s a longarm. The quilting is hand guided meaning I drove the machine to create the designs in each section.
I took her class too and I agree; she’s excellent! Also, her kits are the most well ordered and organized I’ve purchased. Flawless! She’s a real superstar in my opinion. Which pattern are you doing next? I did The Matriarch kit. 31 colors made me glad to have bought the kit.
#quiltsky #longarm #fmq #halloween I still need to bind it and I’ll probably add some spooky details to the tombstone but, it’s pretty much done. I have slightly over one million stitches in it. This is a Legit Kits panel; I’m still learning but tried different motifs in each section.
I’m glad you’re rounding another corner to find yourself ready for an element of your normal into your new normal. Be patient with yourself; I look forward to what you make. When I was still very much mourning I made this. It’s the jagged, relentless, whirring chaos of ALS with glints of respite.
#sourdough I’m a sucker for a shiny new gadget. I love this lame and can’t wait to use it next week 😁.
#sourdough Greetings baking friends! If you’re looking for a bread slicer that will slay your crustiest crusts Zassenhaus has a home run if you can spare the counter space. I didn’t want to say much until I used it. Zero hand strain and the suction cups grip a stone counter like crazy. Ten stars!
Sadly, my nifty new bread slicer had an unceremonious initiation. She’s really pretty though and cuts like a dream. I bought it because I really struggle with withholding the knife straight and also just sawing through my crust, which is usually crispy and blistered. Next time!
#sourdough this is probably going to be a two part or three part saga. Many of you, like me, are caught under the heat dome. In my rush to prepare another loaf so the oven wouldn’t have to be on during the hottest days of the week I left the dough in the Ank too long so the gluten fibers broke down.
That IS baffling! It feels like the science of bread making is a myth when stuff like this happens but still, it’s a welcome surprise! It looks great! Here is my second boule of the day. I felt like this one was in the fridge a bit too long due to how flat it was when I took it out of the fridge.
I see what you mean by the appearance but, in the end, if it’s tasty it doesn’t matter right? I finally cut mine.
#sourdough I tried a different technique today; I did the decorative score but not the expansion score, baked for 7 minutes, then did the expansion score and baked 20 more minutes covered and 12 minutes uncovered. I feel that the rise was better. Can’t wait to cut it tonight!
Thank you 🌸. I really lucked out with that turtle pull. I’m going to use one of the quilted turtle cards I made for her birthday card.
Who are you talking to does it count?!? Most CERTAINLY it counts! I love buying thread!!! I love thread sets, à la carte thread, fat thread, skinny thread, shiny thread, matte thread, poly thread, cotton thread, metallic and Mylar thread, Italian thread, Japanese thread, I love it ALL! Wooo hoooo!
