My daughter's friends parents showed her a horror movie at her sleepover last night.

Ok! My kid loves horror, right? 9 years old. Loves Coraline, Nightbooks, ParaNorman, Goosebumps, you get the gist.

So I got a text from the supervising mom asking if she could watch Hearteyes. Now while I haven't laid eyes on the movie I have seen clips and previews so that's a no for me. I texted back that she can't watch any rated R horror. I was told ok. Today I asked my daughter what they did and the long and short of it is that because I "took too long to answer" they decided to turn on NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE and the dad in charge told her not to tell us so they wouldn't get in trouble. I have had to spend the last few hours with my husband trying to show her special effects explanations because she needed to know how they make getting a head bitten off look real.

I AM PISSED. She's so fucking bothered that she's afraid to sleep without her lights again.

So my question is, does anyone have any ideas on how I can start this conversation CALMLY with the other parents? I don't want my child to lose her friendship over this but God DAMMIT we're so damn mad. I just don't want to approach them in anger. My husband is ready to FIGHT. All I want is simply explanations and discussions if we can help it.

To summarize today’s desktop app changes:
The existing ChatGPT app is now ChatGPT Classic.
Codex is now the new ChatGPT desktop app. It still looks like Codex and includes the Codex icon as an option, but it’s now called ChatGPT.
ChatGPT for desktop includes ChatGPT Work and ChatGPT Codex, which share plug-ins. ChatGPT Codex mode shows more technical details that ChatGPT Work abstracts away from the user.
It’s possible to have ChatGPT Classic, ChatGPT, and Codex installed, but the way forward seems to be just running the new ChatGPT desktop app. Codex users can still use the Codex app icon, but the app will be called ChatGPT.
The ChatGPT Classic app looks more native Mac-like, so that might be an issue for users.

Two workstations on a desk, big CRTs, each with its own keyboard. Maybe they're SGIs? Maybe Sun? They're sat on a thick wooden desk, super sturdily built, plus a pull out surface of the same material for sketches. Doug is sat in another chunky (comfortable?) wooden chair that matches. It might not be a big office. There's an anglepoise lamp on the desk, the walls are adorned with sketches and storyboard frames. There's what looks like a door to the office that's also made out of what looks like high quality chonky wood.
