I contributed to this fine collection of essays on political crisis in Central Europe in the interwar period and today. I argue that one needs to combine practice history with intellectual, religious and social history to understand the appeal and scale of violence in the interwar period. 1/2
What is happening to the humanities at British universities? Here is my report, published in today's FAZ:
It’s a very early morning for me after two great workshop days in Berlin, discussing the opportunities and challenges of AI for historical research and archival work, organised by the team of the research project "A Global History of the URO". Many thanks to all participants!

Kurt R. Grossmann merkte 1951 im New Yorker "Aufbau" Folgendes an.
The new book by @kathiprager.bsky.social 'A Game as Mindless as Love: The Life of Satirist Karl Kraus' is magnificent, especially for former Berliners like me who have always struggled to understand the coexistence of reactionary and progressive elements in Vienna around 1900. 1/2
Residents of #Newcastle of all ages sent a clear message today against all those who incite hatred.
