Back in studio for a few days, beneath the benevolent gaze of the late Sam Neill, in this wonderful creation by @happytoast.co.uk
Nothing gladdens me more than being drowned out by one of these blaring Starship's 'Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now', and joining in with 🎵 "except incoming TfL Regulations, you cunts"
Tonight's screening of ROSE OF NEVADA was an absolute treat, and a full house. Any concerns about blowing up 16mm film to IMAX size (and a few visible limitations in the make-up) were blown away by the atmosphere, performances, walking the line between dream and reality, and the live music.
I know I have a number of friends here who follow cricket and football. Yesterday an American guest said "I don't get how you can follow a sport that ends in a tie". Is it part of our national psyche that makes us travel the length of the country to see a draw, or similarly sit through a 5 day test?
Feeling judged by Merriam -Webster's so-called "dictionary" this morning. Not Playable Words, apparently.
I am convinced that all political and news outlets' social media managers look like this.
That was incredibly moving of both players. And now I'm thinking, do they have a massive fry-up off those plates tomorrow?
A very diverse, entertaining set by O Yuki Conjugate in the heat of underground Brixton. First show in five years.
I had a conversation about it with the charity @covidmemorialwall.bsky.social last week. And there's an interview with them in the Guardian 2021 about it.
Last r/t reminds me that ART SAVES LIVES. An eye specialist was at a Chuck Close exhibition, noticed something in a portrait of CC's father-in-law and got in touch to say "this is mad but I can see signs of (something), might want to get it checked out." Turned out early treatment saved his sight.
I'm enjoying how the camera keeps cutting to the same people in the Royal box and every time the commentators fall completely silent. #Wimbledon
What about a huge growth on the side of the face, what does that signify?
Oh I wish. Iceland is a place I've wanted to visit for decades. And I can provide excellent references!! Have a good holiday, both you and Uggi.
"That's my colour coding not the Lawn Tennis Association's. You won't find that with them, just me"
Turns out that UK Gold did show it in the early days of satellite, and some people have uploaded VHS recordings to YouTube, but no sign of this one. This has turned up though: (it also goes into detail about each game) www.jsfnetgb.co.uk/series_1971_...
One of my things is Art Tax, after a run of work buying a picture to support artists who have stuck to their guns and paintbrushes. Saw some interesting looking paintings on Instagram, enquired about prices, very affordable. Then he pops up in another artist's post saying "AI is just a tool".
Following the game by the sounds from the pub across the way (it's suddenly gone deathly quiet so I'm guessing Mexico have scored) and occasional glances at my bedside table. This made me genuinely lol, well done my BlueSky friends!
The bit where they all climb down into the volcano does things to me too.
Mexico seems they have removed *something* though (I love this and can see the funny side)
