Avoid the Macdonald bridge (if driving) I guess? Took me the same 11 minutes to get from Wyse and Boland to home as it always does. 🚲
Hauling stuff is fun! We thrifted a table (in the bucket) and chairs (on the back of my bike) for the deck. A delightful hot summer evening #BikeHfx outing.
A pretty funny inside baseball HRM Council clip. Consider who Councillor Austin might be looking at with Deputy Mayor Cuttell acting as chair of the meeting.
Glorious #BikeHfx ride to Birdies for their weekly special (Gochujang!!!). Made it from the North End to there and back in under an hour during “rush hour.”
Hit 20,000 km on my @ternbicycles.com HSD while at Kouchibouguac National Park. Fitting as there are a lot of Common Terns there!
Had a very good time at the Propeller last Thursday of the month jazz jam! (I played Footprints, Beatrice, and Nardis)
Blew up the Dahlia counts for the day on our way the #BikeHfx Woodlawn Bike Rally this morning. Great turnout! There is demand for better cycling everywhere.
A joyful exit from Purdys Wharf to Hollis as part of this morning’s #KidicalMassHfx ride. What a day!
Cleaning up my desktop and found this gem from when I booked our Amsterdam flights
Did a little Devonshire #BikeHfx trimming this morning, phew. Should be possible to ride up and down without hitting one’s head or having to avoid too much. Knotweed before and after:

A few days ago I tweaked my Halifax Bird (scooter/ebike) out-of-bounds parking map to try and deduce if a vehicle has stayed in the same place, and for how long Saw this example today and found it on the map! It's been there at least 2 days, 9 hours
Also saw this sweet Baboe on the little cycling street. Should have done a full sticker scan!
The Metro station nearest my hotel was right under the Sagrada Familia so it was pretty wild being very tired and coming up from below ground to this. Pretty remarkable and was cool to get inside as part of a tour while I was there.
I was at the airport for departure pretty early and it has some nice terraces (even if some are shared with smokers). If I had known the "EU exit" point of no return was so soon I would have spent more time outside.
I also only took public transit (if Aerobus for part of my way into the city centre is included). Metro was packed but very frequent and pleasant. The lit up route maps showing past/upcoming/current/future stations were helpful. No doors between cars made for neat effects during turns.
I’m back from a few days in Barcelona where I was able to do some cycling with Lime bikes. Pretty nice!
Saw these “fiets tellers” (bicycle counters) in Amsterdam, like this one in Rembrandtpark. They make it very clear it’s not a camera. We have counters in Halifax, too! Take that, “we are not Amsterdam.”
Here are another three that were hanging out on Nieuwe Herengracht earlier in the week!
So many tulips and other blooms! And trees with forming leaves, oh my. Here’s a pic @bikehfxlobby.bsky.social got at Hortus Botanticus
