I don’t get flats while commuting often. I did today. Stan’s was no match for coin sized, sharp piece of metal. At least it wasn’t raining. Much.
Sunny, humid bike commute. Friendly encounter with a rider from Saturdays community ride made up for unwanted encounters with insects and spiders.
My RIPM pen (the red one) just stopped working. I think I got it at my first professional MLA meeting in 2018 and it has been my go-to work pen ever since. Gonna give the new one a go. I have high expectations for it.
Samuel Morse stopped painting portraits when he found he couldn’t make a living painting. Maybe if he sold more he wouldn’t have invented the telegraph, then we wouldn’t have the phone or the internet or social media. Time travel goals.
NYC wandering: Grant’s tomb, Hungarian Pastry Shop, Little Island, Governor’s Island ferry.
Magical NYC moment: was gifted a glass ginkgo leaf at St John’s Cathedral. Part of an upcoming display remembering the unhoused.
Juneteenth at Gettysburg. Tour guide at cemetery was amazing and did a terrific job tying the battle, Lincoln’s dedication, and the observance of Juneteenth together. A moving experience here.
After a night of rain showers, the humidity has returned. Moist bike commute.
