Soooooooooooo I have a habit of starting Wordle with annoying, useless, and stupid words. Past starters include 'divvy,' 'puppy,' and 'geese.' My husband started with 'zhuzh' last month. We're still quick to solve, regular 2s, 3s, and 4s, though! This is all to explain that... well...

I'm registered Independent and live in the 12th district of PA. I got a truly absurdly skewed survey yesterday, and I'm still cracking up. I feel gross even summarizing, but suffice to say it was pro-GOP to the point of embarrassment. I hope my district makes this pollster very, very frustrated.

And I just wonder: How did this befall us so quickly? There is never money for anything, but this unreliable tech with a huge upfront cost got through immediately? New tech usually passes the public sector by, but this one got all the attention? It takes years or even a decade to implement any sort of change or new ideas into this beast, yet we had the infrastructure and organizational bandwidth to deal with AI up within the blink of an eye?

It is uncomfortable to realize how capable a place really is, and how easily things can be implemented - if the leadership just wants to. It's a complete mask-off moment, underlining that it is never impossible or slow-going by default; it is intentional, by design, and could be improved any time. This is a completely trust-shattering moment for any employee.

(bonus:) On the last day of beta they put all the world leaders in each other's throne rooms for a fun send-off. Here is the same character standing before Thrall in Stormwind. Here I am, the current last person standing (besides the guards)! Mature me says, FOR THE HORDE!!

One of the first instances of FTW I ever saw online was in June 2004 in a WoW closed beta forum when I posted an image of myself wearing this gear 'set,' and someone responded with 'Willows FTW.' I did a lot of 'find holes in the world' testing and so all are low level:

Popping in to say, long live truly free speech and true journalism. My husband used to update his website with quotes every so often. Here's the one from January 2002:

So just today, one kid has Covid, I did a cancer screening, someone backed into my car while I was waiting to pick up a kid at school, that kid was MIA for 90 minutes (went to the store with friends. She's 11), and now a big chunk of plaster fell from our pantry ceiling. Gotta laugh, right? OH YEAH

I must share that 10 years ago my phone decided to autocorrect any 'bec' to 'Becky' despite none in my contacts/not knowing any Beckys. I ended up having to create a special case that always turns 'bec' into 'because,' because I started to worry it would look like I had a secret lover!

That is AI slop btw. Look at the support for the inexplicable metal beam that crosses over the highway. It curves into the jersey barrier--and the cars going the other way are piling up on the median. Not to mention they had traffic cut off, that red vehicle would NOT have been there.
