The Trump regime continues to practice eugenics. NPS staff were told not to treat race, ethnicity, disability, or age as risk factors, which is like saying “don’t treat the absence of seatbelts as a risk factor for a car crash injury.” It’s just fact that those characteristics are risk factors.

People with respiratory conditions can stay inside during the fireworks display and wait for the wind to blow away the smoke, he said.
The Park Service, in a separate document, similarly said that people should "wear an n95 mask when outdoors" and
"remain indoors as much as possible during and after the show."
Another internal document designed to take demographics in the area into account advises Park Service staff to "not treat race, ethnicity, income, disability, age, or language as risks by themselves."
The fireworks are planned to be set off at sites along the Potomac River and the National Mall, not far from areas such as Southeast Washington that are predominantly Black and lower-income

Steven Rosenbaum has decided that the real villain behind the bogus quotes in his book is a chatbot. Earlier this week, The New York Times reported that The Future of Truth, Rosenbaum's much-discussed book about how AI shapes reality, contains more than half a dozen fake or misattributed quotes.
Rosenbaum pinned some of them on his use of AI. He claimed responsibility for the errors and said he was investigating what went wrong. By the time I spoke with him on Thursday, though, he was pointing his finger elsewhere. ChatGPT "fucked up the book," Rosenbaum said.

Once an attack is under way, however, no drug touches it. Migraine
gives some people mild hallucinations, temporarily blinds others,
shows up not only as a headache but as a gastrointestinal
disturbance, a painful sensitivity to all sensory stimuli, an abrupt
overpowering fatigue, a strokelike aphasia, and a crippling inability
to make even the most routine connections. When I am in a migraine
aura (for some people the aura lasts fifteen minutes, for others
several hours), I will drive through red lights, lose the house keys,
spill whatever I am holding, lose the ability to focus my eyes or
frame coherent sentences, and generally give the appearance of
being on drugs, or drunk. The actual headache, when it comes,
brings with it chills, sweating, nausea, a debility that seems to
stretch the very limits of endurance. That no one dies of migraine
seems, to someone deep into an attack, an ambiguous blessing.

This is disqualifying. The decimation of medical research is an atrocity. People are going to die of cancers because research was halted that could have cured them or made them chronic instead of fatal. Any doctor celebrating that doesn’t deserve their MD, much less to be surgeon general.

More than 149,000 Eversource customers on Cape Cod were without power as of 1 p.m. Monday during a blizzard expected to last until early Tuesday. The total outages jumped from around 106,000 at 9 a.m. Monday.
Of the Cape's 15 towns, Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet — the Cape's outermost towns — were 99% or completely without power. Just south, Eastham was 98% without power, and neighboring Orleans was 95% without power.
Towns with at least 70% of customers with no power also included Barnstable, Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Dennis, Falmouth, Harwich, Mashpee and Yarmouth.

My name is David Kronig, GULC class of 2014. It has been brought to my attention that Georgetown is permitting Immigration and Customs Enforcement to participate in the PSRP
tomorrow. Given the horrific offenses and flagrantly illegal actions committed by ICE in Minnesota over the last several weeks, 1 am dismayed that they are being permitted to participate in a program meant to promote public service. There is no reasonable argument that can be made anymore that ICE is engaged in public service. They are a paramilitary occupying force sent to subjugate American citizens and residents. Georgetown Law taught me respect for the rule of law. ICE has no respect for the rule of law, they only recognize the rule of force. They have no place at Georgetown.
