Nature, tech, music. Maya (civilization), Unity, OpenSpace, visionOS, planetariums. Previously: composer, TV editor, jungle explorer.
First time-lapse test for the construction of the new Boys and Girls Club in Astoria, Queens, NY. I'll build the planetarium in a new 14 story club, school, residential building. The old 2-story club in the foreground has started demolition.
1980. There we were, hitch hiking into the Lacandon jungle with 100 lbs of video equipment…
My commute today, ferry to Astoria, Queens NY. Smokey Manhattan beyond the ferry terminal.
Go Mexico! (this is my current test splat - Museo de Arte Popular, Mexico City)
I am sure I am going to need this. Splat editor, free, in the browser. www.splatedit.app
View from a kayak, highly reflected Adirondack lake and blue sky.
Created a simple dome projection simulator for macOS, based on a planetarium sim I made for Vision Pro in the early days. I'll be incorporating it into the suite of Gaussian splat processing and animating apps I've been working on. #makeyourowntools #fulldome #RealityKit #metal
The t-shirt is a great idea, and the full "Tapestry" map is amazing. (Low res screenshot here, link to full res in original post).
Complete eye examination, NYU Langone. A battery of machines and tests. The usual ageing conditions, incipient cataract, etc. And I love looking through their visualizations of my vision, posted on their portal the same day. Modern medicine..
The Fulldome Web Viewer, 2.9MB of html, a collaboration with Fable 5. Now with a lovely Milky Way that you would never see over Manhattan. Reach for the stars...
Claude Fable. Try it while it's free. I just made a planetarium web app, day/night sky cycles at any place in the world at any time in the epoch. Google API for 3D tiles, dome master format. Fable built it in about 3 hours, through a few iterations. UI work to do, and better Milky Way, but damn.
Latest in my continuing splats-in-fisheyes adventure: A pure Metal shader fisheye view - no cubemaps. Demon figures from the Museo de Arte Popular, Mexico City. #fulldome #claudecode #3DGS
