One of my favourite times in Málaga is when the swifts arrive. Twice a year, they enliven the mornings & evenings with their shrill, vampiric shrieks as they zoom by, getting closer & closer until they must surely hit into the balcony, but happily, they never do.

Sad to wake up to the news that Michael Hurley died yesterday. I first heard him on the album he did with The Unholy Modal Rounders & was hooked. Playing these 3 titles as a salute to the man.
I was moving some books earlier & I disturbed a jumping spider. They're not in the least bit dangerous, but by christ, they can jump, and my totally macho shriek was heard all along the coast.
