He should be the last person talking about helmets given his youthful haircut.
A mysterious postcard arrived this morning. Not addressed to anybody and unsigned. I was really grateful to get it -- really needed it today -- but who the hell do I thank? If only there was a clue.
Spent a fortune staying hydrated so I can't afford a book. This is just torture.
The Stewart Lee et al podcast. That was a lot of fun, especially deconstructing one of Barry Cryer's old parrot jokes.
Quite the morning. 20 minute train into Manchester took an hour, I tripped on scaffolding outside the Royal Court, fucking up the good knee I don't currently have braced because I've damaged my mcl, so I limp to Waterstones & the moment I pay for a coffee the fire alarm goes off and we're evacuated.
Really didn't like 'Evil Dead Burn'. Nasty misogynistic rubbish. Hatred of mothers too. Female marrying into a family equated to demonic force. Even worse around theme of domestic abuse. The result was 100 minutes of women beating the shit out of each other. Should have gone see 'Obsession' again.
Really wish that all the trailers in front of a horror movie weren't all for horror movies. They all end up looking the same. Except for those by Eli Roth. They just look shit.
Bliss it was. I just had to smile constantly at the person sitting in my favorite seat.
I'm going to miss these two. Can't think of a four film series I've enjoyed as much as these. There are more films but they rebooted it with a new cast and, apparently, the fifth and sixth aren't anywhere near as good.
Tonight's film. The last of the original Department Q films I've yet to see.
I didn't know the new Minions film is really just a great big homage to cinema. I enjoyed it as much as you might expect based on that. Chef's kiss for the Kubrick bit.
